Sommer Ray (born September 15, 1996) is an American social media personality, fitness model, and former competitive bodybuilder.

Early life

Sommer Ray was born on September 15, 1996, in Colorado.

Ray's first coach in bodybuilding was her father. She dropped out of high school due to bullying.

Career

Bodybuilding and fitness

Ray started competing in bikini bodybuilding at the age of 16. In the 2015 NPC Colorado State Championships, she won first place in the teenage and class D categories. Ray stopped competing in shows after turning 18, citing the prevalence of performance-enhancing substances in the fitness industry as the reason for her quitting. Ray is against the use of steroids and other performance-enhancing substances in bodybuilding.

Internet career

Ray stated that her relationship with WorldStarHipHop's Instagram page helped her own Instagram page grow. She co-hosted a podcast with Amanda Cerny titled OHoney, which originally focused on dating advice and released 50 episodes in 2020.

As of July 2023, Ray has accumulated over 25 million followers on Instagram and a further 12 million on TikTok.

Personal life

In January 2022, Ray purchased a home in the San Fernando Valley for $1.4 million USD.

Controversies

Save the Kids Token

In June 2021, Sommer Ray along with members of FaZe Clan were influencer ambassadors for a crypto non-fungible token called Save the Kids (KIDS) which was marketed as a charity token meant to give a percentage of the transaction fee to the Binance Charity Wallet.

The token was then pumped and dumped by many of the ambassadors and the token's value quickly crashed shortly after when it was released.
