• Not sure this advice applies here, but I'm betting Eric is happy to see it will be on the front page. I read the article years ago, and was very impressed with the quality of the prose and references, so I went to see who did all that work, and of course, Eric was all over the history. We thank you, and Moni3 and all who helped, today for Donner Party, introduced (in 2010): "A harrowing tale of bravery, hardship, and cannibalism in the old Wild West. It was hard to read about and hard to write; I hope the consensus here is that the effort was worthwhile". - Moni3: "It was sometimes miserable to feel the suffering of these people and I realize I have no sense of humor about their trials. What they went through was absolutely brutal. But I hope the article explains it well. I hope once you get started reading it, it will be impossible to stop. This isn't a train wreck that you cannot look away from. This disaster left train wreck far behind in the dust 38 miles back. I’m sure this is a fine article and it comes as no surprise to me to read that American people eat each other at stressful moments, one just has to look at Misplaced Pages to know that. However, it is a truth universally acknowledged, that poor Mr Corbett was one of the project’s greatest editors and it must be tres embarrassing for his many enemies to be constantly reminded of that even after they drove him off like an old bull to the slaughter house. I know he could be a little grumpy and rather forthright, but then so was poor, dear Winston Churchill. But, then, wisely, he never edited Misplaced Pages.
