This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."
If you are here because you want an admin to approve of your new article or your proposed page move, you are in the wrong place.

- To list a technical request: edit the Uncontroversial technical requests subsection and insert the following code at the bottom of the list, filling in pages and reason:
{{subst:RMassist|current page title|new title|reason=edit summary for the move}}
This will automatically insert a bullet and include your signature. Please do not edit the article's talk page. - If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
- If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.
Technical requests
Edit this section if you want to move a request between sections.Uncontroversial technical requests
Most requests should be placed below this heading.- Bongbyeolgi (currently a redirect to Pongbyŏlgi) → Pongbyŏlgi (move · discuss) – Current title is using Revised Romanization of Korean, new title uses McCune–Reischauer ("MR"). Preferring MR because it's a pre-1945 concept, per WP:NCKO. I'd argue the text is obscure enough in the English language that there isn't a strong WP:COMMONNAME for this. 211.43.120.242 (talk) 04:28, 27 June 2024 (UTC)
Requests to revert undiscussed moves
If your request involves reverting a move, place it here.- Wagle Ki Duniya (1988 tv series) (currently a redirect to Wagle Ki Duniya) → Wagle Ki Duniya (move · discuss) – A user moved Wagle Ki Duniya to Wagle Ki Duniya (1988 tv series) without any move discussion and there's another article titled "Wagle Ki Duniya". Contested technical requests
Do not insert new requests in this section. Only move requests here if the requested move has been contested.- Pulp fiction → Pulp fiction (disambiguation) (currently a redirect back to Pulp fiction) (move · discuss) – Disambiguation page missing a disambiguation tag, plus the current title is almost identical to the page title for Pulp Fiction, the film. Smileyissleepy (talk) 03:17, 27 June 2024 (UTC)
- This seems like a pretty clear WP:DIFFCAPS situation. Retarget Pulp fiction to Pulp magazine, and move the dabpage to Pulp Fiction (disambiguation). 162 etc. (talk) 03:58, 27 June 2024 (UTC)
- @Smileyissleepy disambiguation pages do not require "(disambiguation)" in the title C F A 💬 03:58, 27 June 2024 (UTC)
- Hartpury College → Hartpury University and Hartpury College (currently a redirect back to Hartpury College) (move · discuss) – Ofsted, the government, the BBC and the local press all refer to this subject as Hartpury University and Hartpury College and Google lists it as Hartpury University and Hartpury College 𝔓𝔓 16:00, 25 June 2024 (UTC)
- The same suggestion was considered in an RM four years ago that did not succeed, so an RM discussion seems necessary. — BarrelProof (talk) 18:35, 25 June 2024 (UTC)
- TLC (TV network) → TLC (TV channel) (currently a redirect back to TLC (TV network)) (move · discuss) – This is a TV channel, not a TV network, even though/although there are multiple international TLC TV feeds. Intrisit (talk) 08:08, 26 June 2024 (UTC)
- Moved back in 2013 by @Netoholic (sorry for the ping, I know it's been a decade, but I don't like mentioning somebody w/o pinging them), it has been a while but there was an argument made back then that it's a network, and if others are likely to agree a discussion may be the best choice. ASUKITE 14:36, 26 June 2024 (UTC)
- Since you mentioned him and have provided the link, I've pinged @Netoholic: to reiterate his stance back then about this – only then will I be convinced to remove this and start an RM/a fresh RM for this. Intrisit (talk) 19:15, 26 June 2024 (UTC)
- I'll note that User:Netoholic made a number of edits to WP:NCBC in 2013 , and that the naming convention looks markedly different today. 162 etc. (talk) 22:38, 26 June 2024 (UTC)

- Pointing out that this has multiple and varied international feeds (aka channels) is an admission that the article covers a network as an umbrella over those channels. This clearly needs an RM unless requester wants to withdraw it. -- Netoholic @ 05:43, 27 June 2024 (UTC)

- Illinois–Indiana College Sports Rivalry (currently a redirect to Illinois–Indiana rivalry) → Illinois–Indiana rivalry (move · discuss) – per WP:CONSISTENT with other similar college sports rivalry articles KingSkyLord (talk | contribs) 17:26, 26 June 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose. This makes it sound like a rivalry between the two states, rather than a sporting one between two colleges. Should probably downcase to college sports rivalry though. — Amakuru (talk) 18:48, 26 June 2024 (UTC)
- Um, why? Is it because the "college sports" in the title is no official name/proper noun for this?! Intrisit (talk) 19:17, 26 June 2024 (UTC)
- I think the context is an important part of this title, per the precision bullet in WP:CRITERIA a decent argument could be made that "college sports" is necessary (although I don't know why its capitalized) After a little digging through our search, I'm not seeing any other examples to meet the WP:CONSISTENT argument, instead a lot of "Team-Team rivalry" (which is fine) and then examples like Michigan–Ohio State football rivalry (and the convention applies to state v state, country v country and etc. ASUKITE 20:16, 26 June 2024 (UTC)
- For the record, I did move this to Illinois–Indiana college sports rivalry (just fixed the case), but that shouldn't affect any future move requests or discussions ASUKITE 21:00, 26 June 2024 (UTC)
- Perhaps I should have used WP:TITLECON instead. "Team-Team rivalry" is what I was genuinely referring to (e.g. Florida–Kentucky, Houston–Rice) when I meant consistent title standards. It is a rivalry article about two different college athletics teams and historically they have always been named "Team-Team rivalry", "Team-Team football rivalry", etc. Though some schools are named after places, it is not genuinely assumed that articles such as Cincinnati–Memphis for example, is between the two cities as a whole and not the two college sports teams. - Rosny-Bois Perrier station (currently a redirect to Rosny–Bois-Perrier station) → Rosny–Bois-Perrier station (move · discuss) – Per station and metro signage, the official spelling of the station name uses an endash between "Rosny" and "Bois" and a regular dash between "Bois" and "Perrier".
