Poor introduction. This should not be a featured article.

I am surprised to discover that this has featured article status. The introduction fails. The first paragraph, at least, should be understandable by educated people without having to follow links. Perhaps it was only assessed by specialists. In compliance with the FA status, I am pointing this out on the talk page rather than flagging the article as I had intended. Humphrey Tribble (talk) 23:25, 15 April 2023 (UTC)

Agree with Humphrey Tribble - this page has changed beyond recognition from its FA promotion. A major cause for concern is the change from H. Pylori as page name described to the addition of a medical condition infobox with Infection added as the page name, with no such change to the page name itself. This was carried out with no discussion in 2017. The encompassing use of Infection is not only misleading but wrong. Infection is evidently only of concern when it is chronic. The page needs to go back to describing the bacterium for which an infobox has been placed further down. Information regarding the effects of infection can easily carry on as previously.--Iztwoz (talk) 16:49, 18 October 2023 (UTC)
Have made changes relating to its earlier content. Its been 20 years since its promotion to FA with much research carried out interim - have been updating where possible - there have been over a hundred references added since its promotion.--Iztwoz (talk) 09:44, 5 March 2024 (UTC)
