Meteorological history
An area of investigation in the western Caribbean Sea was noted by the National Hurricane Center (NHC) on September 26. For a week, gradual development ensued, until the disturbance consolidated in the Bay of Campeche on October 4, and was designated as Invest 92L shortly after. The next day, the system's convection rapidly organized, and was promptly upgraded by the NHC into a tropical depression.
