Free Church of England
It seems that you are attempting to remove several pages from the Free Church of England pages including the deletion of the page for one of their bishops. Please remove these spurious requests for deletion - the FCE is a GAFCON body, part of the third largest communion of Christians (after Roman Catholics and Eastern Orthodox). Arrowe6365 (talk) 21:27, 21 August 2024 (UTC)
- All articles must meet notability requirements. You should not be creating BLPs with zero secondary sources. By the way, the Anglican Communion is the third-largest Christian denomination. AusLondonder (talk) 21:36, 21 August 2024 (UTC)
- These articles do meet notability requirements.
- As I have already said, GAFCON is part of the third largest Christian denomination, the Anglican Communion is also part of that same denomination. Impaired communion with the Archbishop of Canterbury doesn't make a new denomination, just a different alignment - the whole point of GAFCON (of which the FCE is a part).
- I will be honest (given the leanings that are clear from your talk page), it comes across as an attack against a body with which you personally disagree. Arrowe6365 (talk) 22:25, 21 August 2024 (UTC)
- No idea what the last part of your message refers to. How about you add secondary sources when creating articles and we won't have an issue? It's really that simple. The Free Church of England is clearly not part of the Anglican Communion and to suggest otherwise is simply ludicrous. While BISHOPS is a ridiculous essay it explicitly refers to "Roman Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, Lutheran and Anglican Communion bishops" AusLondonder (talk) 22:41, 21 August 2024 (UTC)

Amara Bangoura (diplomat)
Hi, AusLondonder, how are you? I may be wrong, but I don't think we can delete a page as A7 if it contains a clear claim of significance such as "ambassador to Russia" – as long as that is a credible claim (even if unsourced or not supported by the source cited, as here). What's your take on that? Regards, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 11:06, 1 September 2024 (UTC)
- Hi @Justlettersandnumbers: I'm good hope you're doing well. Yeah fair enough you're probably right, there's a large number of these articles created by the same indefinitely blocked editor with no secondary sources and most of them lacking any substantive content and completely out of date, I've been slowing prodding them, just thought I'd try a CSD but I knew it was stretching it! AusLondonder (talk) 11:12, 1 September 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks! Yes, I think prod should work, it's effectively an unsourced BLP. Thanks for all the great stuff you do, including slowly clearing out this dross, of which there's still far too much. Regards, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 11:17, 1 September 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for that nice message, appreciate it :) AusLondonder (talk) 12:23, 1 September 2024 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Organisations based in Pietermaritzburg
A tag has been placed on Category:Organisations based in Pietermaritzburg indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and removing the speedy deletion tag. Liz 20:33, 2 September 2024 (UTC)
- @Liz: Hi there Liz do you know what article was in this category before it became empty? Is there some way to check? AusLondonder (talk) 23:29, 2 September 2024 (UTC)
I would appreciate it if you could review the edit request on Talk: Gold Apollo AR924
I have proposed an update to the Gold Apollo AR924 entry, as the current information appears to be outdated and inaccurate. Thank you for considering these changes, and I look forward to your feedback. 58.152.168.150 (talk) 16:27, 18 September 2024 (UTC)

re: heather chaplet category revertions
Thx, sometimes it's a little hazy if i'm stretching the categories, her work is all about fashion and sustainability and all that so figured those categories were appropriate. I'm learning as I go with the category thing, it's the one edit type that perhaps perplexes me more than any others. Gregorcollins (talk) 18:02, 20 September 2024 (UTC)
- @Gregorcollins: Hi there, no worries, categorisation can be a bit confusing. Generally very broad categories such as say Category:Cotton don't belong on biographies. If you look at the cotton category it mostly contains articles about cotton products etc. WP:CATSPECIFIC gives some general advice on this. AusLondonder (talk) 16:00, 21 September 2024 (UTC)
- got it thx Gregorcollins (talk) 18:09, 21 September 2024 (UTC)
Diplomats and honours
Just noticed your comment here and really had to laugh:
- Actually, only a small minority of diplomats receive high honours (i.e. CBE and above), especially in the modern day. -- Necrothesp (talk) 10:26, 5 September 2024 (UTC)
- I decided to have a look at some British ambassadors to see whether this is accurate. Surprise, surprise, it wasn't. Menna Rawlings, ambassador to France, DCMG CVO. Karen Pierce, ambassador to the US, DCMG. Nigel Casey, ambassador to Russia, CMG MVO. Julia Longbottom, ambassador to Japan, CMG. Jill Gallard, ambassador to Germany, CMG CVO. Martin Harris, ambassador to Ukraine, OBE CMG. Alex Ellis, ambassador to Spain, KCMG. Notice a peculiar pattern here? A walled garden of articles, some with zero secondary sources (completely unacceptable for a BLP), of British diplomats awarded honours by their employer. AusLondonder (talk) 13:58, 5 September 2024 (UTC)
You have literally picked some of the most important of all UK ambassadors! Talk about cherrypicking to try to prove you're right. Try picking some lesser ambassadors or, indeed, all the other thousands of diplomats who aren't ambassadors (after all, I did say a small minority of diplomats, not ambassadors!). No, don't bother to reply. I know your opinions very well by now. -- Necrothesp (talk) 10:35, 25 September 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for your comments, I except some of those articles will be going to AfD soon given lack of secondary sources. Ambassadors are not inherently notable, nor are they notable because their employer gave them an award. AusLondonder (talk) 11:23, 25 September 2024 (UTC)
Bernadette Thompson moved to draftspace
Thanks for your contributions to Bernadette Thompson. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because a new user gamed autoconfirmed to promote their userspace draft to mainspace without review. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Cabayi (talk) 11:48, 27 September 2024 (UTC)
- @Cabayi: Is this just a courtesy notification as I did some categorisation work as it's not my article? AusLondonder (talk) 11:51, 27 September 2024 (UTC)
- It is. Cabayi (talk) 11:55, 27 September 2024 (UTC)

unconstructive revert
Hello, I'm Kerbin fellow. I noticed that you recently removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Misplaced Pages with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Kerbin fellow (talk) 17:04, 6 October 2024 (UTC)

I just want to say good work for cleaning up all the mess in the bilateral related articles space. I too have a similar interest. LibStar (talk) 04:04, 10 October 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for that, LibStar! I've noticed your good work in the area as well. There's a lot of rubbish but I think we're getting there. AusLondonder (talk) 04:20, 10 October 2024 (UTC)
Ambassadors
I really think we should limit specific Ambassadors to X categories to people who were resident ambassadors in that country. Otherwise we should limit people to being in just Ambassadors of Y for their sending country. All people who we have reliable sources for should be in Ambassadors of Y for the country they represented, that is a defining link. Only those who we have strong evidence the particular country they were assigned to is defining should be in a category for that country. Since Ambassadors are a sub-cat of diplomats, people who are in Ambassadors of France should not also be in French diplomats. I also think we should rename diplomats cats to Diplomats of Foo. So Diplomats of France. In Diplomats what is defining is the country that employed you, not nationality. People who are French people who were Diplomats for something or someone other than France should be categorized based on that and not be in the Diplomats of France category. We really have way too much category bloat with ambassadors and Diplomats. Especially the huge problem of probably 1,000 categories or more with just 1 article. Thank-you for the nominations you have made to upmerge small categories. There are a lot. However since the issues of the categories are often unique, I do not think large scale nominations will work. Narrow category is a rule that seems to be flagrantly violated in a lot of places.John Pack Lambert (talk) 14:00, 10 October 2024 (UTC)
You might find this useful
Hello AusLondonder. Your account has been granted the "rollbacker" and "pending changes reviewer" user rights. These user rights allow you to review other users' edits on pages protected by pending changes and quickly revert the edits of other users.
- Please keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:
- Rollback should never be used to edit war.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
- Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Misplaced Pages:New admin school/Rollback (even though you're not an admin).
- The list of articles awaiting review is located at Special:PendingChanges, while the list of articles that have pending changes protection enabled is located at Special:StablePages. You may find the following pages useful to review:
- Misplaced Pages:Reviewing pending changes, the guideline on reviewing.
- Misplaced Pages:Pending changes, the summary of the use of pending changes.
- Misplaced Pages:Protection policy#Pending changes protection, the policy determining which pages can be given pending changes protection by administrators.
Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of reviewer or rollback. If you no longer want either of these user rights, contact me and I'll remove it, alternatively you can leave a request on the administrators' noticeboard. Happy editing! October 2024
Your recent editing history at Liam Payne shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. AntiCompositeNumber (talk) 22:51, 16 October 2024 (UTC)
- @AntiCompositeNumber: just curious why you didn't template the other editor, who used a false edit summary and removed content even after I expressed opposition? AusLondonder (talk) 22:59, 16 October 2024 (UTC)
