Your GA nomination of Sam Mirza
The article Sam Mirza you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needing to be addressed. If these are fixed within 7 days, the article will pass; otherwise it may fail. See Talk:Sam Mirza and Talk:Sam Mirza/GA1 for issues which need to be addressed. Potential sockpuppetry?
Hi, hope you're doing good. I believe it is "a needle in the haystack" situation for two new accounts (maybe in addition to an older account) to find out about and simultaneously edit two (1, 2) newly-created articles. I'm not sure if this relates to a prior LTA. I was considering reporting, but I am unsure about the exact connection and if this is something else other than sockpuppetry. Just wanted to point this out in case you find any clear red flags. Cheers, Aintabli (talk) 05:00, 25 September 2024 (UTC)
- Hi Aintabli. That was my thought as well. But I've unfortunately no idea who it could be, its starting to get hard to keep track of all the socks. Socking is way too easy on this site, unfortunately. HistoryofIran (talk) 13:40, 25 September 2024 (UTC)
Your GA nomination of Sam Mirza
The article Sam Mirza you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:Sam Mirza for comments about the article, and Talk:Sam Mirza/GA1 for the nomination. Well done! Russo-Persian War (1804–1813)
It may be necessary to verify the reference Erik Goldstein, "Wars and Peace Treaties: 1816 to 1991", page 67, for the result. A cursory check on amazon indicates page 67 covers the Pacific War 1941-5. It could be simply the wrong page number. --Kansas Bear (talk) 16:37, 2 October 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks Kansas Bear. I'll take care of it. HistoryofIran (talk) 17:17, 2 October 2024 (UTC)

- Hi. Well, I can see they altered sourced info, so I've reverted them. But more context would be appreciated. HistoryofIran (talk) 22:38, 2 October 2024 (UTC)
Request for feedback
Hi, I apologize if this is a bad place for this, but I have noticed you're active on pages for Iranian history (it's in your name of course), and saw you multiple times in the talk page for Xerxes I. I have a topic open on the page for Xerxes I regarding a dispute over the placement of user titles in the ruler's infobox, and I am looking for external feedback. I thought I would reach out to you directly.
Again, I apologize if this is not a good place for this, and for any inconvenience caused. AliceBelmont (talk) 23:02, 6 October 2024 (UTC)
- Hi AliceBelmont, nice to meet you. I am kinda ambivalent about this topic, so unfortunately I don't think I will participate. Bests. HistoryofIran (talk) 23:07, 6 October 2024 (UTC)
- I understand, and appreciate the response. I am sorry if it was a bother. I hope you have a nice day. AliceBelmont (talk) 01:56, 7 October 2024 (UTC)
Ghurid madhab
I was reading the Cambridge history of Iran, and found out that the Ghurids adhered to the Shafi’i madhab. May I edit the Ghurid article and add this info? I will put the citation as well. Tajik Khan (talk) 03:08, 9 October 2024 (UTC)
- I don't WP:OWN the article, so by all means, go ahead if you have a citation (you can read more about citation formatting here WP:CITE) to back it with. May I ask why are you asking me? Have we met before? HistoryofIran (talk) 03:34, 9 October 2024 (UTC)
- I see, thank you. I am new to Misplaced Pages and thought you were the major admin for these Iranian articles, I also saw you in the edit history. Tajik Khan (talk) 04:22, 9 October 2024 (UTC)
- Also, it appears the page is locked, does my account need certain requirements or do I need permission? Tajik Khan (talk) 03:29, 10 October 2024 (UTC)
- Oh right, it's protected. You can make a edit request (see WP:EDITREQ) in the talk page of the article, then someone will take a look at it. HistoryofIran (talk) 12:35, 10 October 2024 (UTC)
Ho hum
Am I right in assuming Shahab Uddin 555 is a Najaf ali bhayo sock? DMacks (talk) 18:54, 11 October 2024 (UTC)
- Ponyo nailed it. DMacks (talk) 19:46, 11 October 2024 (UTC)
- Noice. I am (unfortunately?) not familiar with this sock. HistoryofIran (talk) 20:42, 11 October 2024 (UTC)
October 2024
HistoryofIran, if you continue to distort information from sources while threatening other participants with blocking for exposing the distortion, you may be the one who gets blocked from editing in Misplaced Pages. It's good that you corrected your edit, otherwise I would have to write a request to the administration for this issue. This wasn't the first time you tried to distort information from this source, when you first added the source to the article you tried to present Persian as the "native language" of Commagene. Rs4815 (talk) 14:04, 22 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Rs4815: I think enough words has been said and enough WP:ROPE has been given . Next time I will report you to WP:ANI. HistoryofIran (talk) 14:38, 22 October 2024 (UTC)
- "You seem to delete any sources you personally don't like because they don't fit your POV" Seems like I'm not the only one who have noticed this. HistoryofIran (talk) 15:22, 22 October 2024 (UTC)
- You are literally referring to a case where I removed part of the text from an article that was based on the author accused of falsifying history.
- In the other three cases, you were the one who accused me of breaking the rules, what a coincidence! In all the articles about Armenia and Armenians, you try to Iranianize Armenian history. In the article about Commagene, you either distort the information from the sources or take it out of context. For example, in the article, you use the sources that say that the Yervandids were of Iranian origin to call the Yervandids an Iranian dynasty, although there is a big difference between an "Iranian dynasty" (a political term) and a "dynasty of Iranian origin" (depending on the context, either ethnic or political affiliation may be meant). The Yervandids ceased to be an Iranian dynasty in 331 BC, when Iran lost control of the Armenian Highlands and Armenia became a separate state. The Commagene branch of the dynasty descends from Armenian kings, not Iranian satraps. For every source that calls the Yervandids an Iranian dynasty, one can find just as many that call them an Armenian dynasty.
- I will list some of these sources (which call them an Armenian dynasty) on the talk page in November, as soon as I have some free time. I will also check each of the sources you have listed, as you interpret some of them very freely. Some of them are not publicly available, so I expect you to provide me with citations for such sources. --Rs4815 (talk) 18:32, 22 October 2024 (UTC)
