Conspiracy Theorist

Is he more of a conspiracy theorist for suggesting that the US and Israeli governments are involved in 9/11 than the US and Israeli governments themselves for their highly disputed version of what happened? I don't think so. Shouldn't be in the conspiracy theorist category anymore than officials from US or Israeli governments. — Wisdomtooth32 (talk) 23:54, 15 December 2017 (UTC)

No the fuck he isn't. Also, given that he's never spoken a word of English, are you stating here and now that you speak Farsi? 174.115.100.93 (talk) 01:38, 17 October 2019 (UTC)

Insufficiently sourced reports of arrest

The lede is showing this text:

On 6 January, 2018, The Times of Israel and The International Business Times, both citing Al-Quds Al-Arabi, reported that Ahmadinejad had been arrested after expressing support for the protesters in a speech.

Such a claim should be in the body, and then summarised in the lede. The quoted sources do not really provide the sources, merely "The Times of Israel could not independently confirm the report." and the IBT article links to this Arabic newspaper which has text that google translates to:

Al Quds Al Arabi learned from reliable sources in Tehran that the authorities ordered the arrest of former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad during his visit to the city of Shiraz and that the arrest was made with the approval of Supreme Leader Seyed Ali Khamenei after his remarks in Bushehr Described as inciting unrest.
It was learned that the authorities intended to impose house arrest on him.

"ordering the arrest" is not the same as "arrested" in my opinion. Perhaps we should wait until more reliable news sources, such as Reuters or the BBC? -84user (talk) 03:36, 8 January 2018 (UTC)

Update: I've removed the so far uncorroborated claims of arrest, as nothing has been mentioned by Reuters, BBC, Associated Press and Washington Post. You can monitor Reuters breaking news here in case news does emerge. -84user (talk) 05:07, 8 January 2018 (UTC)

Ahmadinejad or Ahmedinejad?

There seems to be some disagreement on the spelling of this fellow's name, though clearly consensus seems to favour the former. Not sure what the paradigm is on transliterated names, but I've removed the "Ahmedinejads" that appear within the article for consistency's sake. Spongebubby (talk) 03:05, 23 June 2020 (UTC)
