Nickname?
I grew up in Boston, and went to many games. I always heard and seen him refered to as "Conig" he was my favorite as a kid, plus I got his autograph, and he put "Conig", beside his full name. (I don't have it anymore. :( ) I don't know if he signed it like that just for us. We all called him that, so did the other teammates and the sportcasters. Here's one link I found to support my claim. There are more, but that is just one I found right off the bat (pun intended). I'm going to look up "Tony C." to see if that was more popular. In my neighborhood, "Conig", was prefered over Tony C. We Bostonians like to shorten words, in addition to dropping our "R"s. The less syllibles the better. Although I'm an old timer, maybe things have changed. Comm Ave, Mass Ave, Dot Ave, Dot High, Dot theater, etc, etc,. Many more, but I think those are the most known outside Boston, perhaps? "Conig" was the man. He and "Yaz". Jeeny (talk) 01:28, 25 April 2007 (UTC)
