On 11 November 2024, the driver of a small SUV deliberately rammed his vehicle into a crowd of pedestrians outside a stadium in Zhuhai, China, killing 35 people and injuring 43 others.

Attack

At approximately 16:00 on 11 November 2024, an SUV hit citizens exercising at the Zhuhai Sports Center running track. There was heightened security in Zhuhai, which was hosting a major civil and military airshow. An eyewitness stated that the car drove in a loop on a running track, knocking over many people.

A 62-year-old man with the surname Fan was arrested on the scene after attempting to flee the site of the attack. Early reports claim that Fan had been recently divorced and was dissatisfied with how property had been divided afterwards. Police state that Fan entered into a coma after he cut himself in the neck with a knife.
