Hi PerspicazHistorian! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a specific definition on Misplaced Pages—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. You seem to routinely mark your edits as minor, although many of them aren't – eg. this edit added an entire new section, amounting to 10%+ more content, to an article; there is simply no way that could be considered 'minor' by any measure. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 12:08, 4 July 2024 (UTC)

The topic is legitimately qualified to be added as an article . In India every surname has a history linked to them . When it comes to cattles:- I just added briefly to mention for what the city is famous for. Surnames in India usually represent a deep history and therefore mentioning other details is justified. Please do not reject it again and if necessary let me know what should be improved. The draft is still under development and new citations and edits are being made timely. Thank You! Any history needs to be verified by reliable secondary sources. The cattle don't matter. You keep submitting this, again and again, and it wasn't ready. I don't know what exactly you're referring to, but just to say that things simply being available on the internet says nothing about their copyright status. The vast majority of content (text, images, video, etc.) on the internet is subject to copyright. I don't know if you've looked into copyright as Diannaa suggested, but if not, then please do so now; and if you have, then you probably need to dig deeper. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 13:13, 11 July 2024 (UTC)

I checked carefully and I do believe that the book is protected by copyright. See the Commons:Hirtle chart. "1929 through 1977: Solely published abroad, without compliance with US formalities or republication in the US, and not in the public domain in its home country as of URAA date: copyright for 95 years after publication date" — Diannaa (talk) 22:06, 11 July 2024 (UTC)

November 2024

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Veerashaiva. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. The page is a controversial topic. Deleting the whole page makes no sense. Rather than deleting the whole page from Misplaced Pages, its better to try reaching an consensus. Lingayatism#Lingayatism read second paragraph of that section, Panchacharyas are mentioned, britanica also mention Lingayat also known as Veerashaiva, the article Lingayatism also mentions the same , the redirect is correct,

Lingayat Vani are separately addressed in the article. You can't say whole article has been copy pasted. Its a work of research and makes Misplaced Pages a more useful alliance of information gathered from various sources. We can discuss it in the talk page, create a discussion but do not abruptly delete the whole article. If that's not vandalism, what else should i call it?
