Inquiry
Good afternoon, I noticed that you had reversed changes on the Karel Komarek page because they were vandalizing it and violating Misplaced Pages's terms and policies. I wanted to inform you that the page has been vandalized again, and I was wondering if you could reverse the changes and look into protecting the page once more against these vandalic actions. Thank you. Lorro123 (talk) 16:11, 2 December 2024 (UTC)
Copyvio
Sorry if this is not the right way to do it but I think a large part of this article is copied from JSTOR so if you could do a RevDel that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, GoldRomean (talk) 19:36, 2 December 2024 (UTC)
- Sorry; I meant 1991 in Pakistan. Also, to specify, the entire JSTOR thing appears to have been copy-pasted from the lead up to the "Incumbents" section. GoldRomean (talk) 19:40, 2 December 2024 (UTC)
- (By the way), I think a lot of the original editor who made the copyvios' edits were also incorrectly sourced? I can try to find them if you'd like. Thanks, GoldRomean (talk) 19:43, 2 December 2024 (UTC)
Administrators' newsletter – December 2024
News and updates for administrators from the past month (November 2024).
Interface administrator changes
- Following an RFC, the policy on restoration of adminship has been updated. All former administrators may now only regain the tools following a request at the Misplaced Pages:Bureaucrats' noticeboard within 5 years of their most recent admin action. Previously this applied only to administrators deysopped for inactivity.
- Following a request for comment, a new speedy deletion criterion, T5, has been enacted. This applies to template subpages that are no longer used.
- Technical volunteers can now register for the 2025 Wikimedia Hackathon, which will take place in Istanbul, Turkey. Application for travel and accommodation scholarships is open from November 12 to December 10, 2024.
- The arbitration case Yasuke (formerly titled Backlash to diversity and inclusion) has been closed.
- An arbitration case titled Palestine-Israel articles 5 has been opened. Evidence submissions in this case will close on 14 December.

Mentoring for FAC
Hi, I'm contacting you because I noticed your username is listed at WP:FAM and I am interested in nominating a FAC but have never done so in the past. I'm contacting several people listed as FA mentors so if you are busy that is okay. The article is Neurocysticercosis, a parasitic brain disease. I have started a peer review for the article which can be found at Misplaced Pages:Peer review/Neurocysticercosis/archive1. Thanks in advance for your time and consideration! IntentionallyDense 21:56, 3 December 2024 (UTC)
- @IntentionallyDense sorry but I'm the wrong person to ask. Both because I'm busy with other things and don't have the time I'd like for FAC right now, and because I don't know anything about writing medical article. Somebody like @SandyGeorgia: might be able to help, or recommend someone better-versed in medical articles that you could ask. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 22:53, 3 December 2024 (UTC)
- Sandy isn't super active lately but I'll reach out regardless. Thank you for taking the time to reply I really appreciate it. IntentionallyDense 22:55, 3 December 2024 (UTC)
A bowl of strawberries for you!

CU Request
Good day! Would you care to run a CU on Abduvaitov Sherzod 2 (talk · contribs)? Prolific puppetmaster who has created many accounts to circumvent locks. Had a rash of new accounts created in the last few days that follow the same naming convention for all the other sockpuppet accounts. The SPI was closed by Bbb23 without action for most of the reported accounts since they didn't have any contribs and I forgot to tag the CU request when submitting the report. Bbb23 recommended I reach out to a CU directly to follow up for a check before reopening an SPI.
The following accounts are believed to be the most recent puppets:
- Abduvaitov Sherzod wikiproduction (talk · tag · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log · CA · CheckUser(log) · investigate · cuwiki)
- Abduvaitov Sh. Wiki 90 (talk · tag · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log · CA · CheckUser(log) · investigate · cuwiki)
- Abduvaitov Sherzod wikiproduct (talk · tag · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log · CA · CheckUser(log) · investigate · cuwiki)
- Abduvaitov Sh 26 (talk · tag · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log · CA · CheckUser(log) · investigate · cuwiki)
- Tools: Editor interaction utility · Interaction Timeline · SPI Tools
Cheers, and thanks! nf utvol (talk) 16:39, 4 December 2024 (UTC)
- Just to be clear, HJ, I didn't "recommend" that Nfutvol ask a CU. You can look at my Talk page if you want a fuller explanation of the sequence of events.--Bbb23 (talk) 16:43, 4 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Nfutvol I find CU'ing on a phone painful and I won't be at a proper screen to do it for a few days. Though from the usernames alone I'd be inclined to block if the first one was blocked for cause. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 16:46, 4 December 2024 (UTC)
- No worries! Understand that would be a hassle. I'll reach out to another CU in the meantime. I was a bit baffled at the assertion that reporting to SPI and blocking in this case was inappropriate but am not one to argue in that case. Thanks! nf utvol (talk) 17:11, 4 December 2024 (UTC)

- @Maliner I don't have anything from you recently? But if you're after a CU you'd be better off asking someone else per above. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 20:45, 5 December 2024 (UTC)
- I am not after a CU. I had sent you an email a couple of days before. It was just an email to inform you about something that I had discussed with you earlier. Maliner (talk) 20:49, 5 December 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks. I have replied Y you. Maliner (talk) 21:17, 5 December 2024 (UTC)

Louis Riel article vandalism and suspicious edits
Hello HJ, I noticed that you recently blocked the user Eessa Zaidi for vandalism on the article Louis Riel (which seems to have become a vandalism magnet as of late. There have been continued disruptive editing, and several editors who may be sock puppets (based on their related user names and behavior patterns. Not all their edits are disruptive but they are a little odd. They are:
- Eessaisnotveryskibidi
- Skbiditoiletfanumtaxhardworker
- Sezai12342
- IP 24.51.233.159
I saw that you are a check user, if you have the time to run a check on these accounts, it might help to curb disruption. (Maybe also partial protection if it continues and you think that would help.)
Thanks in advance! Netherzone (talk) 23:37, 5 December 2024 (UTC)
Request for review for Buangkok MRT station
Hey Mitchell, are you able to help chime in for an ongoing peer review for Buangkok MRT station? I'm requesting because you have helped once to review Nicoll Highway collapse, and I appreciate thoughts from experienced FAC nominators on the article. Thanks.--ZKang123 (talk) 01:30, 7 December 2024 (UTC)

Seeking assist on WP:ANI
Hey there. Needing urgent assist with the IP address in this ANI case, which has persisted with WP:ASPERSIONS and personal attacks. I for one believe such attitudes are simply WP:NOTHERE for contributing objectively on WP.
Seeking your kind attention. Thanks. hundenvonPG (talk) 11:45, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
- Hi @HJ Mitchell, this issue is being discussed in another user talk page already: https://en.wikipedia.org/User_talk:Cullen328 . I was first being attacked by this user as he accused me for being a disruptive person when I was just stating facts with citations from CTBUH. 155.69.184.1 (talk) 12:02, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
