Education
Yakubu holds a Master’s degree from the University of Cape Coast and the Kwame Nkrumah University of Mines and Technology. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management and Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (AusIMM).
Career
Yakubu began his career as a community affairs and public relations officer at Gold Fields Ghana Limited (GFGL), Tarkwa Gold Mine, from 2006 to 2012. He subsequently served as the community affairs Superintendent from July 2012 to September 2013.
Between 2014 and 2019, he was the community affairs stakeholder engagement manager at Gold Fields Ghana, Abosso Gold Mine. In 2019, he was appointed as the regional manager for sustainable development, a role he held until 2020. Following this, he served as the community affairs manager at Gold Fields Ghana, Damang Gold Mine.
