1-nen A-gumi no Monster (1年A組のモンスター, The Monsters of Class 1-A) is a manga series written and illustrated by Hideki, published in the monthly magazine Comic Rex by the publisher Ichijinsha since March 2018. The series currently has 12 tankōbon volumes. As of June 2024, the cumulative number of copies, including the electronic version, exceeded 1.5 million copies.
Plot
Tarō Jimi is a new teacher at "Suezono" Girls' High School, where he has been assigned to Class 1-A, a class infamous for being filled with problematic girls who drive every new teacher assigned to them into quitting due to humiliation, harassment, and mistreatment. As a result, the class is referred to as "The Class of Monsters." However, Jimi, a completely unremarkable, cold, and sinister man who meticulously sticks to his duties, becomes the only teacher able to keep Class 1-A under control. He even puts Momo Hananaka, a model student known for leading the abuse against teachers, in her place.
On Jimi’s first day, Hananaka, realizing she cannot break his composure, sets a trap by appearing in her underwear in an empty room with him, then screaming to make it seem like he was trying to assault her. However, Jimi outsmarts her and exposes her ploy, leaving Hananaka crying and apologizing on the floor. Despite her promise to never behave that way again, the entire school learns of the incident due to a student secretly observing them. Now, Jimi-sensei must deal with the "four leader students" of Class 1-A, who are intrigued by the incident and want to force him to quit. Meanwhile, Hananaka, now isolated by her classmates, must find a way to restore her reputation.
