- Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
- It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
- If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
- Always use edit summaries to explain your changes.
- When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
- If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
- Have fun! Your presence in the Misplaced Pages community is welcome.

A bit of help
Can I give you some advice that will help you a lot if you follow it:
- There is a Misplaced Pages policy called Misplaced Pages:No original research that says that Misplaced Pages articles must not contain stuff that cannot be backed by reliable, published sources. So if you think that .ogg file is pronounced correctly, you need to find evidence that supports it.
- There is another Misplaced Pages policy called Misplaced Pages:No personal attacks that says that editors should comment on content not the editor.
-- Toddy1 (talk) 09:31, 16 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Toddy1 Logical questions aren't attack on anybody. Ok thanks Haveanacc (talk) 09:35, 16 December 2024 (UTC)
Please do not attack other editors, as you did at Talk:Varanasi#Removing all the extra attempted aids for pronunciation. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you.-- Toddy1 (talk) 12:15, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
Varanasi
Varanasi: Please note that if you want to change the administrator-supervised WP:STATUSQUO version of the lead and infobox puctures, you will need to garner a consensus for it on the talk page. The WP:ONUS is yours. It is WP policy. Fowler&fowler«Talk» 11:46, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Fowler&fowler You changed without discussion. How can you preach others for this ?? Simple and well known things can be updated. If Misplaced Pages really is so credible, why don't big users like you should update it. Haveanacc (talk) 11:51, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
Hi Haveanacc! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of Varanasi several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.
All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree at Talk:Varanasi, please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. Thank you. Fowler&fowler«Talk» 12:35, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
- PS Please also read WP:ONUS, which states: "The responsibility for achieving consensus for inclusion is on those seeking to include disputed content." Please note that both the lead and the infobox in their current version have been in place for several years. Please also read WP:STATUSQUO, which states, "To eliminate the risk of an edit war, do not revert away from the status quo ante bellum during a dispute discussion." Fowler&fowler«Talk» 12:41, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
- Please note @Haveanacc: Please note WP's policy on personal attacks, in WP:ADHOM which states, "Abusive, defamatory, or derogatory phrases based on race, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, religious or political beliefs, disability, ethnicity, nationality, etc. directed against another editor or a group of editors. Disagreement over what constitutes a religion, race, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability or ethnicity is not a legitimate excuse." Your edit on Talk:Varanasi, as evidenced in this diff constitutes a personal attack (in my interpretation). As you are a new user and understandably might be less familiar with WP's principles than some of us, I will give you the benefit of doubt. Please self-revert the edit displayed in the diff. Best regards, Fowler&fowler«Talk» 12:52, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
Criticism of Misplaced Pages
Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Misplaced Pages. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.
- If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor, please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page, and seek consensus with them. Alternatively, you can read Misplaced Pages's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant noticeboards.
- If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Misplaced Pages's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.
Please ensure you are familiar with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Lewisguile (talk) 12:17, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
