Dr. Blofeld blew everything away?
I liked the old unified jazz standards page with sections for each letter. I know Dr. Blofeld moved that page to Jazz tunes, but it (because its rapid activity seems like AI or scripting) added a bunch of tunes in there to where it is very noisy now. Oh well, I'll just use bookmark a link to the old page. I don't feel knowledgeable enough to argue for what it should be ultimately. I just liked the old way better. - I've spent much of the year piecing together a more comprehensive list of notable tunes and will complete adding the composers/lyricists and year. Most of the entries will eventually have their own articles, it's just a mammoth task ahead! There was too much of a grey area with "standard". Many entries on the list were hardly really standards and are barely played yet there were many notable tunes which haven't been called a "standard". Most of the major standards are already covered on the decade lists. I suppose we could still have an A-Z list here as well as the new jazz tunes list, but each entry would need to be sourced as a "jazz standard" to stop the lesser ones getting in. ♦ Dr. Blofeld 17:22, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
