Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana is a scheme launched by the Maharashtra State Government for women in July 2024. The Maharashtra Government had approved the launch of the Ladki Bahin Yojana on 28 June 2024 to promote economic independence of women in the state of Maharashtra, improve their health and nutrition, and strengthen their decisive role in the family.

Under this scheme, eligible women in the age group of 21 to 65 in the state of Maharashtra are provided with a financial benefit of ₹ 1,500/- per month.

Eligibility

• Must be a resident of Maharashtra state.
• Married, widowed, divorced, abandoned and destitute women in the state as well as only one unmarried woman in the family.
• Until the minimum age of 21 years and the maximum age of 65 years.
• The beneficiary should have his own bank account linked to Aadhaar.
• The annual income of the beneficiary family should not exceed ₹ 2.50 lakh.

Required documents

The following five documents are required to fill the Ladki Bhain Yojana form.

• Aadhar card
• Domicile Certificate / Birth Certificate / School Certificate / Ration Card from 15 years ago / Voter ID Card from 15 years ago (one of these)
• Ration card/Income certificate (one of these)
• Letter of guarantee
• Bank passbook

Form Submission

Initially, the scheme was given to Anganwadi workers, Anganwadi helpers, supervisors, village workers, ward officers, Setu Kendras, general women, etc. to fill the application form on the Nari Shakti Doot app and later on the official website of the Maharashtra government . However, as a precautionary measure, from September 2024, the state government has given the authority to fill the application form for this scheme only to Anganwadi workers .

Application deadline

The Maharashtra government had initially given a deadline of 31 August 2024 to apply for this scheme. Later, the deadline to apply for this scheme was extended to 30 September 2024. Later, on 10 October, this deadline was extended again to 15 October.

Benefits

The state government informed that 1 crore 59 lakh women were provided benefits of Rs 4,788 crore in two phases of this scheme, namely July '24 and August '24.

As of September 24, 2.50 crore applications had been received under this scheme, out of which 2.4 crore applications had been approved.

As of 15 October 2024, the total number of applications received on the official portal of Ladki Bahin Yojana is 1,12,70,261, out of which the total number of approved applications is 1,06,69,139. ​​Due to the implementation of the code of conduct from 16 October, the scrutiny process of many applications could not be completed.
