Oscar Mediavilla (Valentín Alsina, Lanús, Buenos Aires, 15 November 1954) is an Argentine record producer, businessman, musician and composer.

He was the former guitarist and member of the rock band La Torre, which emerged in the 1980s, and was integrated —among others— by Patricia Sosa (who has been his partner since 1974). In the band, he also composed.

Biography

In 1974 he formed a band called "Nomady Soul", which later dissolved when La Torre was formed. He reached notoriety with this band with them being chosen as a group for the "BA Rock" festival in 1982, and doing international tours (USSR and Spain).

He was a judge on "Operación Triunfo" (2003, 2004 and 2005), Latin American Idol in 2009 and Cantando por un sueño in 2007, 2008 and 2011. In 2012, he was a judge on the Chilean version of Tu cara me suena, for Cantando 2012 (hosted by José María Listorti) and he was also a judge for Soñando por Cantar on Canal 13 (hosted by Mariano Iudica) with his wife Patricia Sosa, Alejandro Lerner and Valeria Lynch. That same year, he was part of a tribute to his former band called "Desde La Torre".

As a producer, he has worked with artists such as Patricia Sosa, Juan Carlos Baglietto, Pimpinela, Adrián Otero and Fabiana Cantilo. In 2010 he founded his company dedicated to the entertainment industry, called Mediamusic.

He was a judge on the second season of The Switch: Drag Race.

In 2020 he was a judge on Cantando por un sueño.
