Warren Rose known professionally as Bruse Wane is a Jamaican American rapper, and songwriter that was born on the Caribbean Island of Jamaica. He was raised in the South Bronx section of New York City. He is known for his prominent hip-hop songs, guest music appearances and collaborations with The Universal Hip Hop Museum and Kurtis Mantronik. Bruse Wane began his rise to prominence hip-hop in 2014, with the release of two songs. Home Of The Spitters, which featured Keith Murray, and Beast Inside that featured Sean Price. He is also the lead emcee and member of the Hip-Hop group Mantronix.
Early life
Bruse Wane was born on the Caribbean island of Jamaican.He immigrated to American and grew up in the South Bronx section of New York City in Bronxdale Houses. It is there he was introduced to hip-hop music and culture, as Bronxdale Houses was also the home of one of Hip Hop's founding fathers Disco King Mario.
Career
Beginnings (2003–2014)
Bruse Wane has stated in multiple interviews that he has been creating hip-hop music since the 1990s. His New York based record label Wane Enterprises was founded in 2003. His 2014 appearances on the songs Home of The Spitters with Keith Murray and Beast Inside with Sean Price is seen as his professional debut.
Breaking Through, & Venom (2015–2016)
In 2015 Bruse Wane released the song Venom which features Sean Price & Chris Rivers. The song appears on Bruse Wane’s Earl Manigault of Rap Album. To many Venom is the song that truly established Bruse Wane's name in hip-hop. Sean Price's verse on Venom is widely regarded as his last recorded verse before his death on August 8, 2015. Upon Venom's release, hip-hop's premiere media outlet HipHopDx declared the song an instant classic. The song was also featured on hip-hop producer DJ Premier's multimedia website, Premier Was Here. On his website it was also noted that Sean Price's appearance on Venom was more than likely his last guest verse, Marking the songs historical significance.
Working With The Hip Hop Museum (2017–2018)
In 2017 Bruse Wane appeared on the Universal Hip Hop Museums historic 16 Bars 4 Hip Hop Compilation Album. The Album was distributed through Sony Red Distribution. Bruse Wane’s songs Ol Head & Stone Age appeared on the album. Other notable appearances on the album includes Rah Digga, Chris Rivers, Chip Fu of the Fu-Schnickens, & Hakim Green of Channel Live. On January 16, 2018 the international law firm Proskauer Honored its lawyers and staff from offices across the United States at its tenth annual Golden Gavel Awards Ceremony. One of the highlights of that year’s ceremony was a live performance by then rising hip hop artist Bruse Wane. Bruse Wane performed one of his songs from the 16 Bars 4 Hip Hop album for the Firm’s pro bono client, the Universal Hip Hop Museum.
Killa Sound Boy (2019–2020)
in 2019 Bruse Wane released his song Killa Soundboy. The song featured a guest appearance by Papoose. Dj Kay Slay broke the song on his street sweepers radio show during an on air interview with Bruse Wane. The song was well received by Hip-Hop fans Dj's and tastemakers. Killa Soundboy along with Venom is considered Bruse Wane's two most popular songs to date.
Kurtist Mantronik (2023–present)
Bruse Wane met Kurtis Mantronik before the start of 2019 global Pandemic at a music festival in Holland. At the time Kurtis Mantronik's group Mantronix was disbanded, but Mantronik wanted to make a return to producing Hip Hop music. After hearing some of Bruse Wane’s music Mantronik decided Bruse Wane was was the perfect emcee to make his return to Hip Hop with. In 2023 Kurtis Mantronik returned to producing hip-hop records. Mantronik reformed his group Mantronix and made Bruse Wane a member, lead vocalist and focal point of the group. They released three hip-hop songs together. The songs were Money Talks, Era Of The AI, and "When The Doves Fly". They songs were released jointly by Mantronik and Bruse Wane through the Mantronis's classics label and Bruse Wane's Wane Enterprises Label. Mantonik produced directed and edited three music videos for all the releases.The videos appear on the Mantronix Official YouTube channel , and total over a million views combined.
