Early life, education and family

K.P.K.Selvaraj was born on 09th September 1957 to the distinguishable sengunthar community K.P.Krishnan and K.Kamalammal. From very young age, Selvaraj directed his interests towards study and developing his father's business. Sri Palani Andavar Silks has a present strong foundation because of this man's hard-work. Selvaraj married the daughter of A.S.Kandaswamy-K.Dhanalakshmi, Venthamarai Rani and this couple has two sons. The elder one, S.Pranesh completed M.B.A.,(U.K.), and S.Shanmugesh is now a graduate with M.B.B.S.M.D., degree. Sri Palani Andavar Silks developed and improved its trend even to exports in late 90's.

Political career and works

Selvaraj is always known for his social services. He is the founder of K.P.K.National Matriculation School and Tirupur Sri Kamatchi Amman Matriculation school also comes under his responsibility for Mudaliyar community purpose. Selvaraj often quotes a line about spirituality, "Follow your intuition, it will always take you to the right destination". Tirupur Muthamizhsangam was laid under his precious hands. The idea of the Sengunthar community's head office in Chennai was kick started with his donations. When ex-president J. Suthananthan Sengunthar wanted to begin education foundation, at first Selvaraj gave 1 lakh rupees. Mudaliar Matri.Com is a website developed by him to honor his community people.

At 2011 was the first year, he stood for the Sengunthar president election against A.Rajavelu Sengunthar in which he did not secure majority of votes. On 23rd February 2014, Selvaraj was elected as Sengunthar president for the first time. Once he came to power, Election for members, Card for all, Organisation self funding, Ensuring protection to Society People's wealth and many more also came to practice. After 20 years, the sengunthar community held Salem conference on 2016 in which lakhs of Sengunthar community participated in it. Selvaraj stood even in the next two elections and had no competitors to lose majority. He holds the president-ship until now .The Sengunthar Community has experienced many managerial and technical changes in its performance only these few years.
