Helen Kennedy (born 1944) is a botanist specializing in plants of the Marantaceae family.

Kennedy was born in Riverside, California. She has a bachelor's degree in biology and a master's degree in botany from University of California, Davis. She also has a doctoral degree from University of California. As of 2016 she was herbarium research associate at the University of California at Riverside.

Taxa named after Kennedy include Philodendron heleniae Croat and Guzmania kennedyae L.B. Sm. & Read.
