Hi! I mentioned you in a talk page section here could you take a look? Thanks. Also Thats a cool talk page content box. How we're you able to make it? --Firekiino (talk) 07:32, 13 May 2022 (UTC)
- @Firekiino: - as you know, I responded to the talk page discussion. The code I used for the table of contents is:
__TOC__

- if you put that at the top of your talk page, you will get the same format. New Page Patrol newsletter May 2022
Hello El cid, el campeador,
At the time of the last newsletter (No.26, September 2021), the backlog was 'only' just over 6,000 articles. In the past six months, the backlog has reached nearly 16,000, a staggering level not seen in several years. A very small number of users had been doing the vast majority of the reviews. Due to "burn-out", we have recently lost most of this effort. Furthermore, several reviewers have been stripped of the user right for abuse of privilege and the articles they patrolled were put back in the queue.
Several discussions on the state of the process have taken place on the talk page, but there has been no action to make any changes. The project also lacks coordination since the "position" is vacant.
In the last 30 days, only 100 reviewers have made more than 8 patrols and only 50 have averaged one review a day. There are currently 811 New Page Reviewers, but about a third have not had any activity in the past month. All 848 administrators have this permission, but only about a dozen significantly contribute to NPP.
This means we have an active pool of about 450 to address the backlog. We cannot rely on a few to do most of the work as that inevitably leads to burnout. A fairly experienced reviewer can usually do a review in a few minutes. If every active reviewer would patrol just one article per day, the backlog would very quickly disappear.
If you have noticed a user with a good understanding of Misplaced Pages notability and deletion, do suggest they help the effort by placing {{subst:NPR invite}}
on their talk page.
If you are no longer very active on Misplaced Pages or you no longer wish to be part of the New Page Reviewer user group, please consider asking any admin to remove you from the list. This will enable NPP to have a better overview of its performance and what improvements need to be made to the process and its software.
To opt-out of future mailings, please remove yourself here.

My apologies
Many moons ago, I set up some sock puppets and proceeded to taunt several editors. I ended up being banned as a sock. You ended up being accused of being a sock of mine. I deeply regret having wasted editors and admins valuable time having to deal with the consequences of my actions, and I am now doing what I should have done a long time ago and am apologizing for having required you to suffer that, and for having to deviate from your work to deal with such an accusation.
I will, however, take the opportunity to express my admiration for how you handled yourself regarding the Neil Tyson article. I had very similar reactions... the stench of what went on with that article still pervades the encyclopedia and hopefully one day, that article will be brought back in line with true encyclopedic standards. Not by me, though... I cannot spare the equanimity, and it's off my watch list.
Anyway, again, my apologies, and keep fighting the good fight! Le Marteau (talk) 12:29, 23 August 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you for the note and I appreciate the sentiment! For my part, I should have handled that entire situation better, but I think the Misplaced Pages burnout got to me. In any case, it's good to have you back on Misplaced Pages, and good luck with your editing. Let me know if you ever need assistance with anything. Cheers! ‡ El cid, el campeador 13:03, 23 August 2022 (UTC)
- "Admiration" for your behavior is the wrong word. Complete understanding and saying to myself, "oh my god yes, someone else here gets it!" is a better categorization. Anyway, please enjoy your day! Le Marteau (talk) 13:34, 23 August 2022 (UTC)
Please allow me to bounce an idea off of you...
This may be the most laughable thing that has ever crossed my mind, or it may actually be a cool idea, but I won't know for sure until I verbalize it and bounce it off of someone else. I am considering starting a society dedicated to the protection of Misplaced Pages. Something along the lines of an "Order of the Garter" or a Knights of the Round Table thing, except a Misplaced Pages version... that name is by NO MEANS what I want, necessarily, but it just popped into my mind with the idea, so I'm going to use it as a working title for now.
The benefits of being a member of the Order would be, being able to say one is a member of the order, and being able to participate in consensus decisions pertaining to the Order (who gets to be a member, and who should be kicked out, basically). I believe in complete transparency... all discussions regarding issues pertaining to the Order should be in public... no discussing matters of the Order in private. And members would get to strut around with a Member of the Order infobox on their userpage.
Members would uphold each other to the highest of standards, and acting in a way so as to bring dishonor to the Order and its membership would be grounds for getting kicked out. With enough time and reputation building, the word of a member of the Order in a discussion on-line will begin to gain weight on its own, as having a reputation of coming from a place of considered thought, and not out of bias.
There are, of course, other anti-vandalism groups on Misplaced Pages, but all the ones I know of accept everyone, which is great, but this one would be different in that membership is a privilege.
All this would, of course, be rather light-hearted. Just another infobox to add to one's collection: 'I support the Order of the Garter', Except that, we will actually have the highest of standards, and membership will be a privilege. And I really don't care if the Order goes beyond six or seven members... it is usually small, select groups which makes change, not mobs. But everyone knows how Wikipedians love infoboxes, cliques and such, and I'm liking my idea a lot the more I think about it.
Anyway, let me know what you think! Le Marteau (talk) 23:42, 24 August 2022 (UTC)
- Hello, while I don't have much experience with forming WP groups, I think it sounds like an interesting idea! Anything aimed at improving WP is a good cause in my book. I am not sure if there are any guidelines which control this sort of thing. Let me know if I can be of assistance. ‡ El cid, el campeador 15:23, 26 August 2022 (UTC)

AJJ albums
Hi! Is there a reason that the AJJ EP "Only God Can Judge Me" had to be removed? I've seen several albums with far less notable aspects and way less references/details written about it on Misplaced Pages. It's very silly that a page that was fully fleshed out had to be removed because it wasn't notable (Again, I'd argue it's far more notable than several albums' pages I've seen survive on here), and I'm just very annoyed due to the time spent on making it now being wasted. All of the pages I've made save for the studio album were deleted, and it doesn't seem you were behind all of them, but with this one I feel should've absolutely been okay to stay. Again, I'm just super confused. BleedTheFreak 23 (talk) 17:34, 3 September 2022 (UTC)
- @BleedTheFreak 23: - thank you for reaching out. I redirected the EP based upon guidelines such as WP:GNG and WP:NALBUM. Most pertinent is NALBUM, which states a recording is notable if it: "Has been the subject of multiple, non-trivial, published works appearing in sources that are reliable, not self-published, and are independent from the musician or ensemble who created it." It is also notable if it charted, was nominated for a significant award, etc. As far as I am aware, this EP does not meet any of those standards. I found a punknews review but that is really the only 3rd party review. Album of the Year does not have any critic reviews. Ultimately, even though AJJ is notable, their notability is not inherited by any of their recordings, particularly EPs, which tend to receive a lot less attention than studio albums. Note that most of Coldplay's EPs were recently deleted, despite being an incredibly popular band. If you can find in-depth coverage from third party sources (i.e. not sources that are selling the album or streaming the album), I would support keeping the album. But right now, I think we are better served redirecting to the AJJ page, where prose regarding the EPs can be added. Let me know if you have any questions. ‡ El cid, el campeador 12:53, 6 September 2022 (UTC)

Committing suicide
Hi, this is not me quoting policy, but just a kind request. See how WP:DEATH links at WP:WPSUICIDE to this document, and then the the section on that document "use appropriate language" and how "committed" adds stigma:
https://reportingonsuicide.org/recommendations/
It subconsciously reminds readers that suicide is a crime, despite that not really being something people get prosecuted for, and often not a crime anymore.
I write in the hope that you might support my revert of your edit and understand why I wrote it that way the first time round. CT55555(talk) 15:53, 13 January 2023 (UTC)

Cooper Saxe
Hello Cid, no offense as I noticed you are somewhat more experienced that I am and have a good AfD stat result. However, concerning the above mentioned page, I was wondering if you did WP:BEFORE and checked PRODnom before taking the article to AfD. If I'm not mistaken Cooper Saxe ran as a show regular from season 1 to season 6 of Power (2014–2020) and reprised their role in spin-off Power Book II: Ghost again as playing the main role for three seasons (2020–2023). As a Power fan who created the articles Power Universe, Tommy Egan, Angela Valdes, Effie Morales, and Davis MacLean, the latter two known from only Power Book II: Ghost, I would like to ask a stupid question, if Effie who was a recurring character and Davis who just got casted passed notability what are the chances that Cooper Saxe (who has been terrorizing the protagonists) doesn't?
See this to see if you can find any RS like Variety, Deadline, or Vulture. Happy editing Thank you. dxneo (talk) 00:06, 10 November 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you for the note! I responded more fully at the AfD discussion but didn't want to leave this ignored. Cheers! ‡ El cid, el campeador 16:26, 13 November 2023 (UTC)
