Originally from New Jersey with roots in Slovakia, Russia, and England, Dolly Lewis is a versatile actress and jazz singer based in Princeton, New Jersey. She attended The Esper Studio and lives in New York City. Lewis sings regularly throughout the city. On camera, she can be seen as the lead character, Tess Avery, in Sight Unseen (2024) and will later be seen in the upcoming feature The Obelisk from director Béla Baptiste [de].

Personal life

LLewis earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History, History, and Italian, graduating cum laude from Rutgers University. On top of her college education, Lewis trained with Suzanne Esper at the William Esper Studio as part of a two-year program to further advance her acting skills. This program saw her work with esteemed professionals such as Bob Krakower (on-camera scene study), J. Michael Collins (voiceover coach), Mary Setrakian (vocal coach), and Tim Monich (dialect coach).

Lewis herself has severe night blindness, and her retinas are detaching. She said that the producers of the show had been aware of this, and "I think they were looking to specifically cast somebody that has real life experience with" vision issues.

Career

Lewis began her professional acting career in 2018, appearing in the short, Vanishing Point as Carlotta the artist. This role was followed by a series of several more short films before she got her first television part, a one-episode role in Dead of Winter as Patricia.

Lewis has two upcoming projects alongside Sight Unseen season 2. One is a short, The Scorpion, where she is set to play Jenna Carter and the other will be Lewis' first movie role. The Obelisk is an upcoming mystery thriller about a drifter, David (Alexey Hartlieb-Shea), who is struggling to survive in a dystopian future in America. There he meets Elizabeth Benning, played by Lewis, a marketing exec who discovers her employer may be contaminating the last remaining water supply. Filming has been completed on The Obelisk, but a release date has yet to be announced.
