Zukris was established in 1993 with the vision of releasing underground experimental techno, trance and ambient music. The label's founding members; Chris Joyce and Susie Ward Joyce forged a prolific writing partnership, both with long backgrounds in the music and performing industry. Chris Joyce from an early age had been intrigued in mysticism, magick and the innocence to believe in an alternative to the excepted hum drum of daily life. Like so many of he's generation music was the central focus, saving for many weeks to buy the next vinyl and then excitedly returning home to place the needle in the groove. From then on, there was no greater priority than to grow the hair and learn 'stairway to heaven', Chris's creative journey had begun!

Susie Ward Joyce started her career in theatre/dance from a very early age, walking the boards of the West End and appearing on national television on many occasions. After meeting Chris for the first time in a studio in rural Kent where she had been booked to lay down some session vocals, a connection was made and long a writing partnership would begin.
