Biography

Hadzov was born in 1874 in the city of Struga, as an only child in a family of exarch teachers. In 1892, he graduated from the Thessaloniki Boys' Gymnasium "St. Cyril and Methodius" and became a teacher in Struga. He joined the Internal Macedonian Revolutionary Organization as a student, dedicated to Aleksandar Chakarov. In the beginning of 1903, he became a teacher in the exarchic high school in Krushevo and took part in the preparations for the uprising. During the Ilinden Uprising, he was a member of the Forest Staff of the Krushevo Rebel District and participated in the defense of the Krushevo Republic. After the uprising, he became a teacher in Ohrid, where he is a member of the neighborhood revolutionary committee. According to Milan Matov:

"In this period... the greatest real benefit (there was b.n.) from Geni, because all the intelligentsia had emigrated and only he remained of it to help Hristo Uzunov. With that, he decisively helped to restore the revolutionary groups along the entire Lake Ohrid"
