Hokuma Aliyeva (August 8, 1991, Susuzluq, Kalbajar District – December 25, 2024, Aktau) — Azerbaijani flight attendant, National Hero of Azerbaijan.

Life

Hokuma Aliyeva was born on August 8, 1991, in the Kalbajar district. In 1993, due to the occupation of their village by Armenian forces, her family temporarily settled in Qaradamirchi village of the Barda district. In 1996, they moved to Russia, living in the Volgograd region for some time. Hokuma attended School No. 178 in the city from the 1st to the 6th grade. Later, her family moved to Ganja, Azerbaijan, where she continued her education. She graduated from Secondary School No. 30 named after V. Veyselov in Ganja and scored 612 points in university entrance exams, gaining admission to the Faculty of Law at Baku State University.

Career

Hokuma Aliyeva pursued her education further in the master's and doctoral programs. According to her father, Jalil Aliyev, she was in the final year of her doctoral studies. In 2016, she started working as a translator for Azerbaijan Airlines. Later, she continued her career as a flight attendant, performing her duties with great diligence. In the following years, she planned to transition to practicing as a lawyer.

Plane Crash

She was one of the crew members who lost their lives in a plane crash. Serving as a flight attendant on an AZAL aircraft that crashed in Aktau, Hokuma Aliyeva spent her final moments calming passengers, saying, "Everything will be fine!" to provide encouragement. Hokuma Aliyeva was laid to rest on December 29, 2024, at the Second Alley of Honor.
