  • Liechtenstein will become the 39th country to legalize same-sex marriage.
• January 9 – The state funeral of former US President Jimmy Carter will be held.
• January 12 – The second round of the 2024–25 Croatian presidential election is scheduled to be held.
• January 19 – A ban on TikTok in the United States is scheduled to go into effect.
• January 22 – Thailand will become the 40th country to legalize same-sex marriage.
• January 26 – The 2025 Belarusian presidential election is scheduled to be held.
• February 9

  • The 2025 Liechtenstein general election is scheduled to be held.

• October 3 – Henri, Grand Duke of Luxembourg will abdicate the throne in favor of his son Guillaume, who will reign as Guillaume V.
