Dreamlinux is a Brazilian Linux distribution based on Morphix, Elive, Debian and Kanotix. It can boot as a live CD or can be installed easily using the tools under the Utilities command.
As of April 16,2007,it is ranked as the 21st most visited distribution page in last 6 month on DistroWatch.
According to the Dreamlinux team, "This Dreamlinux version is the result of making use of various technologies that came from many different distros, like Kanotix, Elive, Morphix and Debian."
Software
Applications currently bundled with this distribution include: OpenOffice 2.0.2, GNOME Office, Thunderbird 1.0.7 email client, Inkscape vector graphics editor, GIMP 2.2.8 graphics editor, Xorg 6.9, window manager, full support for multimedia, automatic detection of video cards and monitors, and v2.5 of MKDistro.
The distro also boasts Xorg 6.9, support for ALSA, and many refinements and improvements, beyond the customized Xfce 4.4 environment and with exclusive icons for this distro, the team added.
Dreamlinux's GUI has a strong similarity to that of Apple's Mac OS X, with a centered toolbar, made animated by downloading the Engage theme.
MM GL Edtion
Recently released is the beta version of DreamLinux Multimedia Edition 2.2 with AIGLX. Provided in this version by default is Beryl-AIGLX, which can be utilized easily after the initial installation. A key feature of which is the automated configuration of AIGLX for Nvidia and ATI cards. However, certain video cards, like the Radeon 9200PRO are incompatible with this way of configuring, and doing so can result in an unbootable system.
