Serbo-Croatian or Albanian names ?

The use of Serbo-Croatian-language place-names instead of Albanian-language ones:

For a number of reasons, prominent among which is the existance of the many incarnations of Yugoslavia, the English language has commonly used the Serbo-Croatian forms, and it continues to do so to this day, seven years after the Kosovo War, despite the fact that now the Albanian-language forms are also being used to a lesser degree.

The English-language Misplaced Pages uses the names our English-speaking readers are most familiar with: the ones they would find in most English-language publications, maps, press coverage, etc... (see Misplaced Pages's naming conventions policy & its associated guidelines on using English and geographic names). In the case of Kosovo, these forms happen to be the Serbo-Croatian ones.

This usage may change in the future, and the current Serbo-Croatian forms may be dropped, the Albanian ones adopted, or entirely new ones coined. If/when that happens, the English-language Misplaced Pages should reflect this shift. But not before: we aim to passively reflect current English usage, not to actively promote the adoption of the Albanian-language forms. - Best regards, Ev 20:18, 18 May 2007 (UTC)

The historical context of Teki Dervishi's birth-place in 1943:
