Welcome—request protection of a page, file, or template here. | ||
---|---|---|
Shortcuts
Before requesting, read the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection and pending changes are usually used to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars. Extended confirmed protection is used where semi-protection has proved insufficient (see the rough guide to extended confirmed protection) After a page has been protected, it is listed in the page history and logs with a short rationale, and the article is listed on Special:Protectedpages. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins should not revert to specific versions of the page, except to get rid of obvious vandalism.

Goguryeo (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
full protection Several editors have been disrupting the stability of the article and violating WP:NPOV and WP:3RR. Requesting protection back to NPOV version. Good friend100 02:37, 20 May 2007 (UTC)
Virginia Tech massacre (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
full protection. High level of vandalism. Most of them come from IP. Chris 02:31, 20 May 2007 (UTC)
ITalkBB (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
semi-protection Semi-protection: Vandalism, Has been repeatedly blanked by multiple vandals (Jj1010 and many anonymous vandals, including 69.140.166.5) Banazir 02:31, 20 May 2007 (UTC)
Misplaced Pages:Ignore all rules (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)
full protection Full protection, Egregious edit warring between established editors. Wooyi 02:23, 20 May 2007 (UTC)
Please review the talk page of the article before protecting. There are ongoing discussions and consensus building about the page contents. At this point, protection of any kind will freeze a version that does not have consensus support from any significant bloc of editors. Please give the BRD process some time to work itself out.You know what? Never mind. Immaturity abounds over there, so please do give us a cooling off period. --MalcolmGin Talk / Conts 02:26, 20 May 2007 (UTC)
Ascended master (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
Full protect. One editor keeps intruding the "fansite" tag on the article, implying that the content is unimportant. As soon as the tag is removed, this editor re-inserts it. The use of this tag may be regarded as pejorative and insulting to well-meaning contributors. There are various metaphysical and religious organizations world-wide that believe in calling saints "Ascended Masters". There is simply no justification in posting tags just to show disapproval of the subject. This editor, who keeps inserting the tag, had agreed to participate in a Mediation Committee approximately 6 months ago; then the administrator (Pinchen Cohen) had to close the case due to lack of participation (except for my full cooperation). Ancient Olympic Games (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
Semi-protect. I requested that this page be protected about a month ago, and that was done for a couple weeks, which worked out well. As soon as the block was up, however, the vandalism started back up again and it is getting back up to about twice a day. Could someone maybe semi-protect this with a more permanent or longer-lasting solution than the 2-weeks from last time? └┘t 23:33, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
- Declined There really isn't enough activity to justify it; long-term semi-protection is only used on articles subject to large quantities of vandalism. Just watchlist and revert; warn and list vandals. Trebor 00:30, 20 May 2007 (UTC)
Gangrene (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
Full protect - Low speed revert war. Mr.Z-mantalk¢ 23:18, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
List of terms in Xenosaga (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
Full protection Article turned into redirect to Xenosaga per Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/List of terms in Xenosaga (2nd nomination); however, anons and new users are insisting to turn it back to an article in defiance of the AfD's consensus. NeoChaosX (talk, walk) 21:36, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
Full-protect. A group of users is carrying to this page a dispute that led to the protecton of Attachment Therapy and for which there is an RfC in process. ] DPeterson 21:34, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
Metroid Prime 2: Echoes (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Current requests for unprotection
ShortcutsBefore posting, first discuss with the protecting admin on their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.
- To find out the username of the admin who protected the page, click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page," which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
- Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
- Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
- If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page, please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected, please use the section below.
Check the archives if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

Remove protection. Six weeks should be long enough to deter vandals. Chris Cunningham 20:26, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
- Unprotected. bibliomaniac15 21:10, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
Current requests for significant edits to a protected page
ShortcutIdeally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.
- Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among
{{Edit protected}}
,{{Edit template-protected}}
,{{Edit extended-protected}}
, or{{Edit semi-protected}}
to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed. - Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Misplaced Pages:Suggestions for COI compliance), the
{{Edit COI}}
template should be used. - Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Misplaced Pages:Requested moves, not here.
- If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
- This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.

FA Cup (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
Semi protection for about 30 minutes (if you're quick). Also FA Cup Final 2007 and FA Cup 2006-07. Final just finished, couple of people keep either changing the result, or adding rubbish to the pages. --217.43.88.241 18:03, 19 May 2007 (UTC).
- Semi-protected one of them, Centrx got the others. Trebor 18:18, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
Gold quest (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
semi-protect. Anonymous IP's have been persistently vandalising this article, removing cited content critical of the company and adding uncited promotional information of questionable credibility making the article a advertisement.Kerr avon 18:01, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
- Declined – Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection. Watchlist and revert any vandalism. Trebor 18:19, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
Shrek the Third (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
Semi-protection Request is due to the movie being just released, a lot of anons vandalizing it and some persistent users continually removing the Reception section (it got bad reviews seems like some people don't want to show that). Berserkerz Crit 17:53, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
- Declined – Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection. Besides, sprotection isn't preemptive. -Royalguard11(Talk·Review Me!) 18:25, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
- Comment I beg to disagree although I respect your judgment. If you looked at the most recent 100 edits you'd see a lot of vandalisms and removals of sections. Berserkerz Crit 18:45, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
Landmark Education (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
full protection On going slow edit war by two editors trying to force content into the article against general opinion. Editors are reverting their 'version' and are refusing to address issues raised in discussion by other editors. Their justification is the material is 'sourced' so it can be included. The objections are based on content and relevance not sourcing. Protection is needed to stabilize the page until this dispute can be properly resolved. Lsi john 16:01, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
- Fully protected for edit warring. Try dispute resolution. This is not an endorsement of the current version. Trebor 17:54, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
Ferrari (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
Indefinite Semi-protect Already constant vandalism since last protection ended, AND since my last request, which was yesterday. Ashura96 15:57, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
- I note that there has been precisely one act of vandalism since I declined yesterday's request. Someone else can handle this. – Steel 16:25, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
Oh, I thought I saw more. I did notice it appears to be the same vandal, editing it with exact same words... Ashura96 16:28, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
- Perhaps you could substantiate that with diffs. – Steel 16:33, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
- Declined Not enough activity: just watchlist and revert, and warn and report persistent vandals. Trebor 16:38, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
Shaykh_Nazim_al-Qubrusi (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
Full-protection. This biography of a living person receives constant reverts by IP to one which describes this person who is alleged to be a Sufi-saint as a "known imposter, a charletan" and a page full of angry sounding rebukes. I have replaced the text which is libel to a simple two line introduction of what the person is famous for.
