She sits with the Party of European Socialists. She entered in the 1994 elections.
She is married to former Labour Party leader Neil Kinnock, Baron Kinnock (who was created a life peer in 2005) and is a patron and president of various organisations including One World Action, Saferworld, and The Burma Campaign.
