Mircea Eliade (March 9, 1907 - April 22, 1986) was a Romanian philosopher of religion. He spoke 8 languages fluently (Romanian, French, German, Italian, English, Hebrew, Persian and Sanskrit). He has been critizied for his alleged connections with the Nazi regime.
