WikiProject user category

It is recommended that Category:Wikipedians in the WikiProject Current Local City Time be renamed to either Category:WikiProject Current Local City Time participants or Category:WikiProject Current Local City Time members according to convention. It is left up to the project participants/members to choose which they would like. Since you are the only member of the category, your opinion should count for something. :) Please contribute to the discussion on the Project Talk page. An Automated Message from HagermanBot

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Misplaced Pages pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! HagermanBot 04:28, 18 April 2007 (UTC)

Yes

Yes, in fact I'm on a case right now, but currently got a lot on my plate why? Æon 04:44, 18 April 2007 (UTC)

Just checking, because the members list may not be up to date since the recent changes, and you may or may not be listed. Please consider updating the members list, or helping us make one. Thank you! --CyclePat 04:47, 18 April 2007 (UTC)

CyclePat2

Pat, I think you should retire the account CyclePat2 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log). As far as I can tell there is no good reason to use the alternate account rather than this one, the edits you make with it do not appear to differ in character form those you make with this account and all it does is at best confuse and at worst invite suspicion. Guy (Help!) 20:33, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

Hi Guy, I know what you mean. One of the main reasons I did make my CyclePat2 is for when I get into sticky situations and I have someone stalking my every edit under the my CyclePat account... reverting every edit (as was the case for that WP:EA request for move incident which occured not to long ago). Also... I had some monobook features, just changed them recently and trying out some news ones today, on this account which made it hard to navigate through wikipedia. (It removed the side bar and stuff) I have been happy to use my second account to make certain other edits, which are somewhat different in nature (but leave you wondering if this main account is probably not being used for purely administrative things). Anyways, the monobooks help with things like RC patrol, afd listings, and other stuff. ;) I will think about your suggestion. Thank you. --CyclePat 01:51, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

Hello CyclePat, an automated process has found an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, such as fair use. The image (Image:Powabyke.jpg) was found at the following location: User:CyclePat/Motorized bicycle. This image or media will be removed per statement number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media will be replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. The image that was replaced will not be automatically deleted, but it could be deleted at a later date. Articles using the same image should not be affected by my edits. I ask you to please not readd the image to your userpage and could consider finding a replacement image licensed under either the Creative Commons or GFDL license or released to the public domain. Thanks for your attention and cooperation. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 05:24, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

AMA

Cycle the AMA is done several SYSOPs said go ahead an EA it. Please leave it alone I do not wish to get into a dispute over this however I will request protection of the redirects to enforce the histoical status. Sorry man but the AMA is beyound repair. Æon 01:58, 25 May 2007 (UTC)

  • Pat, please drop this. AMA broke, it was not fixable. I have a suggestion for a better use of your energy, if you are interested. Guy (Help!) 08:49, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
    • For FYI I plan on sending the invaild MfD up to Deletion Review soon so that the clsoing of the AMA can be discussed. Æon 13:55, 25 May 2007 (UTC)

It seems like you are the person who is trying to bring AMA back to life. I did a lot to help bring medcab back to life a little over a year ago. I'd like to help. But right now it seems like AMA is essentially a closed process with no new membership.... Would you be interested in help or not so much jbolden1517 13:32, 25 May 2007 (UTC)

Cycle, I've removed your AIV report. I'm not blocking Aeon, because, quite simply, AIV is for administrators dealing with simple vandalism. Aeon is a respected member of the community who I've interacted with many times in the past. At the very least, without current significant vandalism, a block needs to be discussed on a community noticeboard. Note that I'm making this entire comment without casting an opinion on the AMA situation. alphachimp 07:16, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
And your proposial to ban all EA editors from making changes to AMA is out of line. User:Zscout370 08:22, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
And if you don't cut it out, now (the AIV reports, the CN reports, etc.), I will block you for disruption. Daniel 08:24, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
It appears you didn't listen, and popup-reverted WP:CN, to which Ryulong has independantly dealt with. Needless to say, I endorse the block for edit warring, mass disruption and failure to assume good faith. Daniel 08:26, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
  • Noooooooooo! It was broken on so many levels, just let it rest in peace. Seriously. It was a troll's charter and it spun out the disruption caused by trolls to a ridiculous degree - plus it fucked up every single RFAR it got involved in as far as I can see. EA is a much lighter, much more Wikipedian and much simpler idea. Misplaced Pages does not need a legalistic bureaucratic process which serves in the main to give false hope to hopeless cases. These people need education, not advocacy. I did not see s single case which could not have been handled better, and some of the cases I saw could not possibly have been handled worse. As a system, it was at best unhelpful and at worst toxic. This is not the fault of the volunteers, or even the people who conceived it, it was just naive and far too easily gamed. Write it off as a noble but failed experiment, and find a better way to help people out. Please. Guy (Help!) 08:28, 26 May 2007 (UTC)

Block

You are currently blocked for 72 hours. The full reasoning is described at Misplaced Pages:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents#CyclePat blockedRyūlóng (竜龍) 08:27, 26 May 2007 (UTC)

STOP NOW

Pat, if you keep this up your talk page will end up locked and you might even end up banned. Please stop now - go out for a ride on the bike or something. Remember, editors found climing the Reichstag dressed as Spider-Man may be indefinitely blocked. Misplaced Pages is not real life, it does not matter that much and it certainly does not matter urgently enough to risk being kicked out over it. Guy (Help!) 08:33, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
