The Demonator is an episode of the Nickelodeon series Drake & Josh.
Synopsis
In this episode Drake and Josh are waiting for the grand opening of a new theme park ride named "The Demonator" which was meant to be the next day in the episode, but Megan informs them that people were queing up on TV right at that moment.
The brothers are ready to head off, when they are asked to look after Walters grandfather, Larry "Papa" Nichols while their parents head out. But Drake and Josh, in a desperate attepmt to ride "The Demonator" the first night it opens trick Craig and Eric into coming to their house so that they can look after Papa Nichols.
When Drake, Josh and Megan get near the front of the queue to ride "The Demonator" Josh says that he needs to go pee. When Josh tries to cut back into the queue people call security and the trio gets sent to the back of the line, which is a 2 hour wait from that point. When they get 20 minutes closer to riding the Demonator a kid dressed as a pirate (who has been annoying Josh) takes off "Milford Mouse's" tail, which Josh takes off the boy and gets framed for yanking it off. Drake and Josh get sent to the back for the second time and Megan claims that she has never seen them before in her life.
Meanwhile, Papa Nichols comes round and thinks that Craig and Eric are German Nazis, while believing that he is still in the war. He chases Craig and Eric around the house several times, all of which he thinks he has killed them and that more and more Nazis keep coming.
When Josh worries that they won't be back home before their Mom and Dad get back Drake shows his unknown mathematical skills, and says that they'll have 2 minutes to spare. Then Josh questions why Drake is failing Math if he could figure that out he replied "Because this is important".
Trivia
- Spacetrek is an obvious parody of Star Trek. And the episode where "Spodnick" dies, is a parody of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan where Spock dies.
- Eric and Craig use the name Spodnick. The name Spodnick was first heard in The Foam Finger. The foam finger guy's name was Lenny Spodnick.
- The fifth episode in this season to feature the people's unintelligence.
- We find out Drake is good at math but only when he wants to be.
- We never see the roller coaster ride from inside but it is false and people just made up.
- The Demonator is similar to Ohio's Geauga Lake roller coaster, The Dominator, known to be one of the craziest roller coasters there.
Goofs
- At first, the anoying kid and his mom are behind Drake and Josh on the line. The next time the line is shown, the kid and his mom are infront of them.
- When Drake and Josh are at the back of the line, Sammy from Little Sibling is in line.
- Drake says it would take six minutes to ride the Demonator, 13 minutes to find the car and 22 minutes to drive home and that they would get home at 10:58. But when they exit the Demonator, Drake says their parents will be home in 20 minutes, meaning it was most likely 10:40.
Quotes
- Walter: Guys...you can't take your great grandfather to ride the Demonator.
Josh: Sure, you can.
Drake: Yeah, you only have to be this tall. - Drake: Let's see...so we're 17 minutes from the sign that said two hours from this point. So I figure it'll take us one hour and 43 minutes in line, 6 minutes to ride the Demonator, 13 minutes to find the car, and 22 minutes to drive home which puts us at the front door at about 10:58, which is like two minutes before Mom and Dad said they'd be home.
Josh: Okay...if you could figure all that out...then, why you failing math?
Drake: ...Because THIS is important.
