Taimak (born Taimak Guarriello on June 24, 1964) is an American actor and martial artist. Taimak has acted in more than 10 films, his first being 1985's The Last Dragon.

Early life

Born to an Italian father and African American mother, Taimak has studied Chinese goju, goju-ryu, taekwondo and jujutsu.

Career

Cast in The Last Dragon,Taimak had no prior acting training or experience, and was taught on set. He later appeared as the lead male in Janet Jackson's "Let's Wait Awhile" music video, Debbie Allen's "Special Look" Video and on the TV show A Different World. Taimak has also worked as a personal trainer to celebrities such Madonna. He also starred and then was fired in a play that toured the United States called "Cheaters" opposite a large cast of African American stars.

Taimak also stars in the movie "The System Within". According to him, the director left all of his worst takes in the movie. (Worst takes? or Bad acting? I say the latter) He does not promote this movie. He also states that the director was too cheap to give him a copy of the movie. There was a brown carpet premiere. He did not attend.

Taimak use to co-own a gym that went out of business on the east side of Manhattan in New York city called "Fitness Concepts". According to him he has since parted ways with the partners.
