Precedent for state titleholders

Hello. Is there any precedent regarding whether or not all state titleholders of Miss USA and/or Miss America are notable? There are a couple of new articles that got created, and at least one of them has had a notability tag added to it. Here (Monica Louwerens‎ Kris Krull‎) are both of them if you want to take a look. --After Midnight 21:20, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for pointing this out... yes they are notable (and have been saved in afds...)... will go take a look-see. -- PageantUpdatertalk | contribs | esperanza 21:25, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

Wikistalking

With these last four edits, edit 1, edit 2, edit 3 and edit 4, I wonder if I'm being wikistalked. Please stop. -evrik  23:46, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

Now things are getting ridiculous. See my reply on Talk:Kandice Pelletier. I would have removed those edits no matter who made them as they merely deprecate, rather than improve the article. -- PageantUpdatertalk | contribs | esperanza 23:49, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

Composite images

Hello, Pageant. I've recently found and uploaded Image:Miss Universe manitou2121.jpg and Image:Miss Universe manitou2121.jpg, and I thought you might be interested in them. I found them fascinating. Also, the entire Beautycheck site is very informative, if you're interested in the science of beauty.

(By the way, I think the copyright issues are fine on these, although it's tricky. The composite images are released under a free license, although the individual images upon which they are based are presumably not free. Still, since the individual images are not recognizable, I don't think the copyright holders could make a claim on the composite images. Interesting thought though.)

Article hacking

If you insist on removing the images placed on the Amazing Race 5 contestants, I will report you for vandalizing the page. The images as listed fit the FU guidelines. If you don't agree tak it up the the Talk:Amazing Race 5 contestants page.--evrik  21:04, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

Fair use image policy

If you have a screenshot of an episode of TAR it can only be used in two articles: the main TAR article and that season's TAR article. And within reason, it can also be used to described the network which airs the program. Fairuse only allows an image to described the topic in discussion. In the case of {{TV-screenshot}} tag only allows a fairuse image dor the description the program pictured. Other uses are not permitted. For example, you can't use a screenshot of a contestant for their bio article on Misplaced Pages. --Madchester 21:43, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

Maintenance tags

Actually, you are not allowed to remove maintenance tags unless you explicitly ask the editor who added it in the first place. This applies to both articles and user talk pages. --Madchester 22:19, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

I was under the impression, per the links I cited, that prod tags were allowed to be removed by any editor contesting the prod, and that this had to be accompanied by a message in the edit summary and on the talk page. As far as I am concerned this is standard practice. If you read the tag itself, those same instructions are given there. That is the whole idea with the prod tag - it is there until it is "contested" or removed by another editor. That is why I wished you luck getting it to stick, as I expected it to be quickly removed by Evrik. -- PageantUpdatertalk | contribs | esperanza 22:25, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

I'll have a look at it once I can too. Though for now, you need to get it endorsed, else it'll be deleted regardless. I'll have a look over both side as soon as I can get a chance. Seraphimblade 06:19, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

I can't certify it, as I haven't been involved in the dispute. You need to sign it, and if there is another (DadChester or Filll, for instance) who tried and failed to resolve the issue through discussion on talk pages, they need to sign it. That is how it remains listed. Jeffpw 08:42, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Miss Teen International (USA) listing fixed

I fixed this (was originally Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Miss Teen International) since the AfD notice was placed on Miss Teen International (USA), not Miss Teen International. If you intended to nominate Miss Teen International, you will need to fix the current nomination. If you intended to nominate both articles, I suggest you move the nomination back to Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Miss Teen International, place an AfD notice on Miss Teen International, fix the link in the AfD notice on Miss Teen International (USA) and add Miss Teen International (USA) to the Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Miss Teen International nomination. —Doug Bell  00:41, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

Oops, have no idea what happened there. Anyway I was only meaning to nominate "Miss Teen International (USA)" so thanks for fixing it. -- PageantUpdatertalk | contribs | esperanza 00:47, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

Survivor pages

I'm curious as to why you nominated them all seperately and didn't just use a mass afd. -- Scorpion 14:44, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

Survivor AFDs

So, with your survivor AFDs, are you saying you think the star of a hit national TV show is less notable than a state-level winner at a pageant, with little national coverage? I don't understand these nominations. Most of these Survivor contestants satisfy WP:N, which simply requires non-trivial coverage from multiple independent sources. I've seen you reference "notability" without indicating what your definition is. --Rob 02:00, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

Well according to everything I've read since I came to Misplaced Pages I have gained the impression that in general reality television contestants are not notable unless they gained notability outside the game. The difference with state level titleholders is that they reign for a year and are visible in their communities for the length of their reign and leave a legacy afterwards, not to mention their participation and appearance on TV. In all honesty, I think that while some Survivor contestants (and Amazing Race, and America's Next Top model contestants) are notable, the vast majority are not and are better served by articles such as Amazing Race 5 contestants (currently up for deletion - I'm hoping it will be kept). Nice to hear from you, by the way :) -- PageantUpdatertalk | contribs | esperanza 02:09, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
I think that contestants that are notable within the game deserve a page. This would mean getting to about the final 4, or being the first or only of something. Bruce and Lillian would qualify for this, each being notable besides just being a player. Also, Becky was part of the first 3-person tribal council, which makes her notable. RFC

Hello PageantUpdater, thank you for your message. The reason I did not remove Erik's "postscript" is that he does not make reference to any other editor. In your "postscript", you specifically say that you want to respond to things said by Erik.

Generally speaking, I don't think it is a big problem to add to your own comments. (I say generally speaking because I can envision a scenario that would cause problems if other people had already endorsed the view, and then the author changes their statement dramatically. In that case, the people who endorsed it would have endorsed a very different version. However, I don't think this technicality applies here).

I do think there is something wrong with responding to other peoples comments. This is specifically precluded from RfC's. Please let me know if you can agree with this reasoning. Best, Johntex\ 07:17, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

Miss International (USA)

In the debate, there were indeed a few comments. However, the last delete comment was, in my opinion, successfully rebutted by Bebedebroadway. That leaves only your nomination requesting deletion. At best, it was no consensus, but I saw a week keep, a merge (which defaults to keep, as it just asks for the information to be moved somewhere else), and a comment that does not indicate a desire for deletion. In either case, there was not a consensus to delete. That said, the article can still be merged; it is a purely editorial decision, and does not have anything to do with AFD or the rest of the deletion process. Titoxd 02:00, 24 February 2007 (UTC)

Even in that case, it still would boil down to a no consensus. If you disagree with my closure, you're free to request a review of my actions in Misplaced Pages:Deletion review. Titoxd 03:17, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
I could but why bother? Anyway the best thing to do right now is simply to do some research, rework the article, reference it better and pull it into shape. No point being destructive when you can be constructive, huh?! -- PageantUpdatertalk | contribs | esperanza 03:21, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
Although considering it has little more than 4 non-trivial media sources that might not be so easy. -- PageantUpdatertalk | contribs | esperanza 03:22, 24 February 2007 (UTC)

Re: Amazing Race 11 Images

--Skeetidot 00:39, 26 February 2007 (UTC) PageantUpdater,

I'm new to Misplaced Pages edits, but wanted to add images to Survivor, Big Brother, and Amazing Race articles, the way that they had been added to other articles (see http://en.wikipedia.org/American_idol_5 for an example).

The images were all from CBS.com (so they would be consistent) that I coverted into thumbnails in Adobe Photoshop CS. and I'm under the impression that they are "fair use" images. Also, I added the link to each of these photos when I uploaded them.

I know editors aren't allowed to add just any image found online, which is why I was trying to keep it to official images from the network's official home pages for the shows. Other than adding an image that I took myself and release to the public domain, how else am I to correctly upload images? Which licensing category is appropriate? Do you have any examples of articles with allowable images?

Thanks, Lauren

Re: An idea

I can do those links for "Miss Photogenic" and "Miss Congeniality" - no problem. Do you want all instances in the table, or just the "top-most"? Also, did you happen to see Misplaced Pages:Categories for discussion/Log/2007 February 26#Category:Beauty Pageant Winners ? --After Midnight 00:29, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

Beauty pageant winners

You asked for specific examples for why this category shouldn't be deleted. Check out my logic and you may see the point I'm trying to make. For the record, I'm not invested in the topic of beauty pageants at all, I just hate to see a logical progression to organization fail by consensus. CovenantD 09:12, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

Manske picture

I have saw a picture of Nicole Manske that could be used for a possible replacement. It is her picture to when she worked at WISH-TV in Indianapolis that could qualify as fair us or as promotional that could be used as a replacement. Click on that link to her article and issue comments on this to me please. Even though I don't follow beauty pageants much and despite knowing a former Miss TN and two former Miss SC's, I am interested in Manske because of the auto racing part of her career that she is in, I would still like to have an image of her if possible. Chris 21:35, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

Unfortunately I can't think of an instance where a fair use picture would be suitable for this article. I know it doesn't seem right, and I myself have had issues with the guidelines (for example, nearly one hundred pictures I uploaded were tagged as RFU late last year) but it's just one of those things. For a fair use image to be viable, it would have to illustrate something of great importance to the article rather than purely being decorative. -- PageantUpdatertalk | contribs | esperanza 22:03, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
One of the links I have on Manske shows her as a finalist for the 1998 Miss Teen US pageant and I wonder if that would be a possible substitute for this. It is a thought. I may be grasping for straws on this. I wish there was a way to make these images more easily accessible to use so that we would not have to go through all of this hulabaloo that we could use this stuff as is. This is one of two things, IMO, that i find extremely frustrating about Misplaced Pages (the other is vandalism which I absolutely despise). Chris 20:46, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
I tired to download another image of Manske that was not an issue, but that proved unsuccessful. As a result, I decided to remove the RFU and replaced it with an Ifd with a speedy delete by author. I wish we could get more clarity on this issue, espcially because I want to download images of bobsled, luge, and skeleton tracks as part of a project I am starting later this month. Thanks for your help on this. Chris 23:32, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
The issue is that you over-wrote the last photo without changing the fair use rationale. I agree that the other picture should be able to be used so I'll see what I can do. -- PageantUpdatertalk | contribs | esperanza 23:48, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
The initial image was deleted and I am glad to see that you put the image I was putting in, but unsuccessfully overrided in. Thank you for doing this. I owe you one on this. Chris 13:39, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

Janelle/Janel Bishop

Hello. I saw this morning that our friend changed Janelle Bishop to Janel Bishop on the article and also at Miss Teen USA. We now have a red-link that should either be fixed via creation of a redirect or doing a page move. I started to try to check sources to see which name spelling was better to use and I am stumped. Can you make a recommendation please? --After Midnight 13:28, 10 March 2007 (UTC)

Hi! I checked the Miss Universe press site and in fact it is "Janel". I was surprised! I will do the page move now. -- PageantUpdatertalk | contribs | esperanza 20:44, 10 March 2007 (UTC)

Miss Arkansas USA picture

Hi. this one for Kelly George is a little tricky. But, I'm going to say we should consider it free, and if you don't upload it, I probably will. I don't see any "red flag". For instance it doesn't say "Courtesy Photo" (which are usually unfree). Also, certain military publications aren't public domain, like the "Stars and Stripes", but they explicitly state when that's the case. And the photo isn't from a pageant. It's presented as a a news story, by the Air Force. So, I say go for it, but of course, feel free to ask again at Misplaced Pages:Media copyright questions. I consider this photo a nice find. As for Tara Conner, I'll take a look (haven't read it for a while). --Rob 01:52, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

Arbitration re: Abu badali

Hi. I am writing you because you were one of the respondants on the RfC about Abu badali that was started back in November. There has been no substantive comment there for over a month and User:Abu badali has never bothered to respond to the RfC. The last comment on the talk page of the RfC was a suggestion to take it to arbitration, which is what I propose we do. Accordingly, I have created a shell/draft listing to add to the list of Arbitration Committee matters here. I've listed your new there, preliminarily, as a complaintant. If you are not interested in participating, please remove your name. If you are, please add your comments as we must prepare a 500 word summary of the case. Thanks for your attention - Jord 15:31, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for this. Someone suggested I take it there but as I had never set one up, had/ve no idea of the specific process and am busy irl right now, I never got around to it. Will take a look and comment when I get time. -- PageantUpdatertalk | contribs | esperanza 18:43, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

Copyvio images

Misplaced Pages:Copyright problems is for copyright violations. If for instance Evrik would have stated he made that picture and licensed it under the GFDL, which he didn't of course. The picture is obviously a fair use image. Whether it fails our fair use criteria is something different. Looking at it, I don't think they do. It's better to use the tags {{rfu}} (for replacable fair use) and {{orfud}} (for orphan fair use) and of course WP:IFD. Garion96 (talk) 03:33, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

License tagging for Image:MissUSAwinningstates.png

Thanks for uploading Image:MissUSAwinningstates.png. Misplaced Pages gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Misplaced Pages, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Misplaced Pages:Media copyright questions. 10:07, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

While I agree with the need to fix grammar as well as spelling, in this case you've picked a bad example, as at http://www.m-w.com/dictionary/broadcasted 'broadcasted' is listed as a valid variant of 'broadcast'. I accept 'broadcast' might sound better, but I don't 'fix' valid variants of a word. Rjwilmsi 17:03, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

Posting on User talk:XLR8TION

Hello. I saw your post here and just wanted to confirm that it was intended for XLR8TION and not for me. I know that this issue has been getting pretty contentious and I am assuming that XLR8TION made a comment to you in an edit summary or somewhere else that you took offense to, but it is possible that you misinterpreted my posting to him and thought that I was accusing you of something. I am only thinking this because of the way that your comment sits under mine and it looks like you are addressing me rather than him, but I hope that I am just being confused by the format. I hope you know that I have a great deal of respect for you as another editor and that I would never intentionally make you feel accused of something or attack you in a public forum; I would always approach you directly and respectfully; but if my fear is correct and I have hurt you please let me know so that I can further explain my actions and intentions. Best regards. --After Midnight 01:34, 1 April 2007 (UTC)

Please go to and participate in the mediation. You apparently think you own all articles relating to beauty pageants on this site, therefore, mediation is requested due to ignorance and vandalism on part of yourself and others. --XLR8TION 01:51, 1 April 2007 (UTC)

XLR8TION, your message above appears to be a personal attack. The first sentence of your message would have been sufficient to get your message across, the second sentence was unnecessary and not called for. Please be more careful with your tone towards other editors. --After Midnight 02:40, 1 April 2007 (UTC)

Please refer to mediation. It is apparent that you do no t want to mediate this matter as you feel that you personally own these pages. By mediating, a resolution can be brought.

Considering I was the one who instituted the move procedure to estblish consensus on the matter rather than acting unilaterally, I think you are grossly overreacting. I have already outlined the reasons I have chosen not to participate in the mediation: I do not believe it is justified at this time. Let's wait and see what happens with the move request, and go from there. -- PageantUpdatertalk | contribs | esperanza 22:07, 1 April 2007 (UTC)

Do not warn me as no vote has taken place. I have requested that action on these articles be taken as you have clearly disregarded any attempt to take a mediation into affect. Yo DO NOT own articles so don't claim ownership. Your words clearly indicate that you claim ownership. You have violated the three RR rule many times as well. Article will be submitted to an editor for intervention whether you like it or not.--XLR8TION 14:22, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

Re: Protection

I'm not going to bother with diffs, the history shows a high amount of good contributions. Frankly, I doesn't look like you're putting much effort into maintaining the article It seems to me you are trying to take the easy way out with protection. I see no attempts at discussion or warning of the anonymous editors. John Reaves (talk) 22:07, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

And I'm sure you reverted it, right? John Reaves (talk) 22:18, 11 April 2007 (UTC)
I am trying too but it's like picking through a needle in a haystack to separate the vandalism throughout the article from the reversions people have made. Miss Universe 2007 Article

Hey.

First of all, thanks for all your contributions to the article. And great job on culling out all the unsubstantiated info and citing your sources. As for the paragraph in question in regards to Serbia & Montenegro, I just found your paragraph somewhat vague and confusing, and you had also misspelled "previously". I just corrected that typo, and provided more info (and cited as well through Pageant Almanac) in regards to the new representation. When I saw that we both meant well, I just deleted everything altogether and left the first sentence intact, which was what both of us wanted to say in the first place. No harm, no foul. Anyway, Global Beauties has just released the candidate list it had obtained from the Miss Universe organization. It included candidates from the British Virgin Islands and Namibia, and had Portugal in it too. However, no candidates have been selected from Georgia or Romania, although both are on the list. Lithuania is not the list. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.205.139.183 (talk) 08:22, 16 April 2007 (UTC).

Fuckin' Badali

I'm asking you because I don;t know who else to ask.

Why is nothing being done about this jerk? We made a long document, but it's just sitting there. I don't know about this administrative stuff. Is there some next step that needs to be taken? Can I help?

TechnoFaye Kane 18:22, 2 May 2007 (UTC)

You put into words my very feeling. Honestly, I have no idea about what to do next. The RFC was challening enough for me, I have no idea what the next step is. Perhaps we should contact the editors who suggested taking this to arbitration and see if they can help? PageantUpdater User Talk Review me! 22:13, 2 May 2007 (UTC)

Well you do it. Badali just deleted another image in one of the three articles I still care enough about to watch. They will see him as a beset-uupon enforcer of their rules. The bozos who run this place now listen to their tunnel-vision corporate lawyer who is paid to keep them out of trouble and cares nothing for the users, so they exclude material which OBVIOUSLY no one would complain about, like studio publicity photos.

The best we could hope for is a token suspend him for a while, then he will be back, laughing. Even if they terminate his account, he is probably ALREADY doing the "nihilistic destruction of everything valuable" he is so proud of under another name because he thinks it will happen. That's why he doesn't defend himself. If I knew where he lived, I'd hire someone to put on a ski mask and take a baseball bat to him without saying anything, then when he's at the cops, let him try real hard to think of ALLLL the people the asshole has fucked over in RL, wikipedia, and everywhere else.

I am DONE with wikipedia. Fuck it.

Orphaned non-free image (Image:MelissaLingafelt.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:MelissaLingafelt.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Misplaced Pages under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Misplaced Pages. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Misplaced Pages (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Misplaced Pages page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Abu badali 02:25, 14 May 2007 (UTC)

This image in no longer orphaned. It was removed from the article by an anon IP about 1 hour before it was tagged as an orphan by the above user. Accordingly, I have restored the image to the article and removed the orphan tag from the image. --After Midnight 03:03, 14 May 2007 (UTC)

Image:ChelsiMissUSA.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:ChelsiMissUSA.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Misplaced Pages articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Abu badali 18:47, 19 May 2007 (UTC)

Associated Press images

Hi, PageantUpdater. I'm avoid templates to avoid your distress. Would you consider asking yourself for an admin to delete Image:MissUniverse2007crowndrop.jpg? It may had not occurred to you when you uploaded it, but, as this image comes from Associated Press(AP), a company in the business of licensing images for a fee, when we use it to illustrate some text about the event it depicts we are using it in direct replacement of the original market role of the image.

Please, note that irreplaceability (the first of our 10 non-free content criteria), in situations like these, only increase the value the image has to its copyright holder. For similar cases where unique photographs were deleted because our use was diminishing the image's value to it's copyright holder, you may want to check this or this discussions (in the first one, Jimbo himself stepped in to delete the image).

All the best, --Abu badali 19:18, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

Re: Image

My mistake. The image has been restored. ^demon 21:35, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

I'm not sure what template you're referring to, but you're more than welcome to do whatever to the image, I have no real interest in it. ^demon 22:15, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
That's okay - it's just a template to show that the image has been kept. I think it has to be added by the admin dealing with it. It just means that if "certain editors" want to cause a fuss, at least the template is there to show it's been kept. PageantUpdater User Talk Review me! 22:41, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

Kari Schull

A "{{prod}}" template has been added to the article Kari Schull, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but yours may not satisfy Misplaced Pages's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Misplaced Pages is not" and Misplaced Pages's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Calton | Talk 23:38, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

AfD Nomination: Kari Schull

Hello, and welcome to Misplaced Pages! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, but all Misplaced Pages articles must meet our criteria for inclusion (see What Misplaced Pages is not and Deletion policy). Since it does not seem to me that Kari Schull meets these criteria, I have started a discussion about whether this article should be kept or deleted.

Your opinion on whether this article meets the inclusion criteria is welcome. Please contribute to the discussion by adding your comments at Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Kari Schull. Don't forget to add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of each of your comments to sign them.

Discussions such as these usually last five days. In the meantime, you are free to edit the content of the article. Please do not remove the "articles for deletion" template (the box at the top). When the discussion has concluded, an administrator will consider all comments and decide whether or not to delete the article. --Calton | Talk 01:26, 9 June 2007 (UTC)

I would strongly recommend you STOP afd-ing and prod-ing these articles... wait for ONE case to go through then act on the rest accordingly. You are creating a great deal of repetitive work for myself and other editors.

And I would have strongly recommended that you not waste time and server space with your assembly line of nearly identical and trivial articles attempting to document the non-accomplishments of every American female who's walked across a stage wearing swimsuits, high heels, and a sash, but it appears to be too late for that. And what "great deal of repetitive work" am I creating for you? Requiring you to actually write actually encyclopedic articles which actually meet basic encyclopedic standards? God forbid. --Calton | Talk 01:43, 9 June 2007 (UTC)
And to actually answer your question: nope. Not your call. --Calton | Talk 01:44, 9 June 2007 (UTC)
Oh, and 6 prods are not "tons" -- try to limit the hyperbole. --Calton | Talk 01:46, 9 June 2007 (UTC)
6? Get a life. I remove the prod from six but there are seven others to deal with... I just can't be bothered doing so right now... I have five days. PageantUpdater User Talk Review me! 01:52, 9 June 2007 (UTC)
PageantUpdater, I have removed all of the other Prods I could find. According to Wiki protocol, the article may not be re-prodded once the tag is removed, but must,, instead, be AFD'd. I thoroughly understand your reasoning on notability, and have voted Keep in the AFds I have seen. It seems a bit overly enthusiastic to me for Calton to have prodded so many articles, but looking through his contributions, this seems a pattern of his. Read his talk page completely for details. Pageant deletions

Since AFDs are not a vote I look at the weight of each argument, which does irk some users as they think if they get enough keep votes any afd will at least end in no consensus. The arguments for keep were almost identical in every AFD I closed: "She might not be notable now, but she will be later," in which the proper course of action would be to delete the article and recreate it when better sources exist. I stand by my decisions. — Ocatecir 16:45, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
