David Miscavige is the chairman of the board Religious Technology Center, an organization that was founded by the Church of Scientology to control all of the copyrighted material authored by church founder L. Ron Hubbard. Although Religious Technology Center claims to be entirely distinct from the Church of Scientology, Miscavige—who, as a teenager, was one of Hubbard's assistants—is widely reported to have become the leader of the Church and all of the affiliated Scientology enterprises.

Born into a Catholic family from Philadelphia, he was accidentally introduced by Dianetics, and with the help of auditing, the practice used in Dianetics, many of his childhood ills, including allergies, were reportedly gone.

His family then moved to Saint Hill Manor in the 60's where he was trained and one of the youngest to audit people full time.

Realising that this was his calling, he left high school and joined the full-time branch of the Church of Scientology - the Sea Org, where he rose through the ranks and eventually became one of the personal students of L. Ron Hubbard, Scientology's founder, particularly in producing some of the training films for the higher levels of service in the church and photography.

When Hubbard died in 1986, Miscavige became the chairman of the board RTC, holder of the Dianetics and Scientology trademarks, the highest eclesiatical office in the Church.

As Chairman of the Board RTC, Mr. Miscavige is often a speaker at major Scientology celebration events, Church grand openings and the like.
