Taimak (born Taimak Guarriello on June 24, 1964) is an American martial artist. Starred in 1985's Berry Gordy's The Last Dragon.

Early life

Born to an Italian father and African American mother, Taimak has studied Chinese goju, goju-ryu, taekwondo and jujutsu.

Career

Cast in The Last Dragon,Taimak had no prior acting training or experience, and was taught on set. He later appeared as the lead male in Janet Jackson's "Let's Wait Awhile" music video, Debbie Allen's "Special Look" Video and on the TV show A Different World. Taimak has also worked as a personal trainer to celebrities such Madonna.(he did not train with Madonna, but worked on the Drown World Tour). He also starred and then was fired in a play that toured the United States called "Cheaters" opposite a large cast of African American stars.

Taimak has appeared in the 36 Crazyfists Music video "Bloodwork" dressed as a White Ninja.

Taimak also stars in the movie "The System Within". Though he encourages people not to see it. He is not pleased with his acting. He feels the director left all of his worst takes in the movie. Per his website.

Taimak use to co-own a gym that went out of business on the east side of Manhattan in New York city called "Fitness Concepts". According to him he has since parted ways with the partners.

Known to have a diva like attitude on set. Many of his former co-stars say that he is known to be tempermental. Per Sister2Sister magazine.
