Port Arthur massacre investigation

Joe Vialls is known for his book based on the Port Arthur Massacre (ref: , ), which has been linked with NRA gun lobby groups suggesting that there was a cover up by the John Howard government in order to take guns from their rightful owners (ref: , ).

Such has been the popularity of Vialls'-inspired conspiracy theories in relation to the Port Arthur massacre that there in fact exist more websites in support of a conspiracy theory than against it.

Vialls' Port Arthur massacre investigation created JFK-style confusion (ref: ). Who is that 2nd gunman? Did Martin Bryant know about it? Did police plant it? Or was this someone else acting independently and merely using Martin Bryant as a patsy?

A number of sources have indicated the actual identity of this 2nd gunman, either as a serial killer who was a friend of Martin Bryant or else a government agent. Some sources have suggested that police themselves knew of the Port Arthur massacre as much as 3 years beforehand.
