2-aminoethoxydiphenyl borate (2-APB)
2-aminoethoxydiphenyl borate (2-APB) is a chemical that acts to inhibit both IP3 receptors and TRP channels (although it activates TRPV1, TRPV2, & TRPV3 at higher concentrations). In research it is used to manipulate intracellular release of calcium ions (Ca) and modify TRP channel activity, although there its lack of specific effects make it less than ideal under some circumstances. Additionally, there is evidence that 2-APB acts directly to inhibit gap junctions comprised of connexin26 or connexin32. Sources1 Diver JM, Sage SO, Rosado JA (2001). *removed* Oak Street
At *removed* Oak Street lies a historic manor in San Francisco, California constructed during the summer of 1882. The building became the draw of the neighborhood in 1910 when its second owners decorated it in delicately ornate gold molding and stained glass of Germanic descent. Precursory to this remodeling, the house was best known for its survival tactics during the earthquake of 1907. It was presumably the first house to stand still and not panic, and was later known for its heroic efforts in regrouping and post traumatic syndrome therapy sessions with the other houses. Not much is known as to the manor's history until 1992, except that sometime after the 1907 Earthquake and the Vietnam war, its dining room honored by hand-painted Peacock mural, became one of the first successful underground Opium dens in the United States. During the 1960's, the house was not very motivated, yet was delightfully entertained by watching cars pass by. In 1992, an Irish plumber took ownership of the home and modernized its electricity and plumbing. Significantly, he also split it up into "condomiums" by separating the servant's quarters from the rest of the home entirely. This was much to the disgruntlement of the squatters that were residing in the home at the time. They had 30 days to vacate the premises while the work was being performed. They were so upset by this displacement that they wrote cursing derogatory graffiti upon the walls of the home in passive tense. It is quite possible that Janis Joplin, Robin Williams, Jerry Garcia, and a priest have walked by the front gate and may have stopped to smell the droopy flowers growing just inside the gate. The current tenants of the property suspect that Jerry Garcia's soul may be stealing their Blockbuster rentals from the mailbox. Annapurna Trekking : The most beautiful Trekking Region
There are three major trekking routes in Annapurna Region: to Jomsom Muktinath , to Annapurna Sanctuary ( Annapurna Base Camp), and a circuit of the Annapurna Himal itself. Pokhara is also a good starting place for short treks of one to four days, such as Ghorepani Trekking, Ghandruk Trekking and others. Mustang is also geographically a part of the Annapurna region, but because treks to Mustang are subject to special restrictions. About two-thirds of the trekkers in Nepal visit the Annapurna region. The area is easily accessible, hotels in the hills are plentiful, and treks here offer good scenery of both high mountains and lowland villages. Roomful Express
History-Sewing Machines to Stereos to Sofas Incorporated July 7, 1958 originally to import and distribute Necchi Sewing machines, Roomful Express experienced growth in the 1960's selling sewing machines and electronic home entertainment products. In 1970, they expanded their product line to incorporate home furnishings. The name Roomful Express, came out of a concept that the company had been employing in its stores since the early 1990s. As part of its merchandising, some furniture was grouped and sold as a package, with the message to customers that there was no need for them to pull together a room arrangement that may or may not work, and that buying the "roomful" was less expensive than picking out individual pieces. The company now has 10 stores in the tri-state area. Corporate Management-Michael Kuhn President John M. McGowan CEO Paul L. ARSAMES (IRAN)
ARSAMES is a thrash death metal band CALLED **BEAST OF THE MIDDLE EAST** from **IRAN** (Mashhad) , formed in 2002 by Leader Ali Madarshahi (the drummer) Arsames really began to develop it’s true potential with a new talented musician Ali Sanaie (the fastest bass player in Iran!!) We started creating and writing songs and practicing them at the same time. The members of the band at that time were: 1-Ali Madar Shahi (drums) 2-Hamid Yousefi (guitars) 3- Ali Sanaei (bass) But the necessity of another guitar player to enrich the melodies in our songs was obvious. so again another talented musician the Great quitar Player and our Best friend Ali Azhari joined ARSAMES and he filled the empty space in our songs beautifully. Right now, we have some pieces of music that we are eager to release as an album. We want to dedicate the album to all Iranian metal fans and to show our friends in the other countries that Iran is a great country with lots of talent and potentional. We are determined to prove that this kind of music is beyond the borders and are not designated to any geographical region in the world (especially the western countries) in contrast; Eastern music with its heavenly melodies can modify thrash death metal music to one of the best pieces of music in history. We are a thrash death metal band that respects social policies of its society we just want to make music!! Hamed Azizi officially joined ARSAMES Hamed blurb's : My name is Hamed Azizi and i am 24 years ,I was in another death metal band here as a brutal death vocals with name POINT OF DEATH. And now ARSAMES is my seccond band that I realy like it, ARSAMES is a powerfull death metal band around that i never seen before(IF YOU TRUST YOUR EARS JUST LISTEN TO OUR TRACKS) it's time to have killer progress with ARSAMES . Stay Metal Now we have a full death metal member that ready to complete our first upcoming album called ARSAMES, you can check out our website and download some demo tracks of our works, we are going to have live concert in and out of iran in near future

Bobby Newcombe
Bobby Wundu Sowa Newcombe played for one of college football’s elite programs, The University of Nebraska, and was the team’s starting quarterback during his sophomore year - the 1998 season. The Parade All-American led a 9-4 Husker team to a 7-1 start playing in 6-of-8 contests during that span as the team’s starting QB before bowing out for knee surgery from a PCL injury he had suffered on Aug. 28 against Louisiana Tech. In that game, La. Tech came out with an explosive passing game led by QB Tim Rattay that had Nebraska DBs including star defender, Ralph Brown, racing up and down the field to contain speedy La. Tech receivers for the entire game. Rattay threw for more than 500 passing yards, but it was Newcombe’s flawless passing game of his own (9-of-10, 168 yards) that put Nebraska on top, 56-27, to win the season opener. Sadly enough, in the same game midway through the fourth quarter, Newcombe was caught laying vulnerably on the ground after a designed running play when a large 300 pound Louisiana Tech defender fell on top of his leg that caused Newcombe’s PCL to tear. The 5-11, 195-pound Newcombe would be in a large knee brace for the remainder of the year. He’d never overcome the injury but would do the best he could while playing with pain to take Nebraska to its one blemish record through 8 games. Great moments for Newcombe that year came in his decisive play (14 rushes, 79 yards & 5-8 passing, 84 yards) in a 55-7 win over Washington and also in a late-season contest and 41-0 win over Kansas. And Nebraska yet again notched another 9 win season, a streak that lasted for over 30 consecutive seasons dating back to the 1960s. In 1998, Newcombe was the face of the program literally being on the front cover of several syndicated pre season college football magazines (i.e. Lindy’s Big 12, etc.). He led Nebraska in passing with 712 yards off 50-of-79 passing while only throwing one interception. Other accomplishments for Newcombe included him playing at wide receiver and punt returner during his freshman season, the year that Nebraska won itself a split of the National Championship with Michigan back in 1997 with a perfect 13-0 season. He had an amazing reach-from-behind reception of a Scott Frost pass that helped Nebraska extend one of its many drives to overcome Missouri in their unbelievable miracle win that was otherwise known as the “Immaculate Reception” as Newcombe’s teammate, Matt Davison, had the game’s winning catch. In 1999, Nebraska would find itself a new leader emerging in the form of Eric Crouch who would go on to take over the quarterback’s position and lead the Husker program into yet another chapter of its tremendous storied past of college football excellence. Crouch’s three year reign would even include him winning the Heisman Trophy and taking the Huskers as far as to the BCS National Title Game on the Jan. 2, 2002. Bobby Newcombe’s post Nebraska football life included him being taken on day 2 of the NFL Draft in the spring of 2001 by the Arizona Cardinals. He was cut by Arizona but managed to play football for the CFL’s Montreal Allouettes. Currently, he is not on an active roster of any NFL or CFL team.

Sources144.232.248.58 21:22, 2 July 2007 (UTC) J. Clyde Morris is a name familiar to drivers in both Daytona Beach, Fla., and Newport News, Va. Web searches for the context that led to his moniker being attached to two major roadways in towns 1000 miles apart. Please include something that allows his name to appear in searches as I stumbled across him virtually by accident after years of asking civic and business leaders in both towns who this man was. In Newport News, his name is particularly confusing as it is a region where roads are often named after Revolutionary or pre-revolutionary figures. Jefferson Avenue is an example. As is Newport News itself - named for Christopher Newport. CIVILIZATION-STATE This has been developed by the Interuniversity Institute of Geneva (INU) in opposition to the nation-state. (See the site www.inuge.ch). It is based on the work “Coexisting Contemporary Civilizations. Arabo-muslim, Bharati, Chinese, and Western” of Guy Ankerl. INUPRESS, Geneva, 2000, pp. 346-351, ISBN 2881550045. The national state is a western concept referring to a national community, most often on a speech community of a shared mother tongue. (See Patrick Griffin: The people with no name: Ireland’s Ulster Scots, America’s Scots, Irish and the creation of an British Atlanti world.1689-1764. Princeton UP, Princeton, 2001.) A sphere of civilization relates a population to a shared writing system. The script itself is bearer of a revealed or other fundamental axiomatic doctrines guiding the collective way of life. A same writing system is used frequently by more than a speech community. The civilization-state is a political entity representing a sphere of civilization. Embracing a population enough numerous and a territory enough large, a sovereign civilization-state guarantees the conditions of the durable maintenance of this way of life. - China with its ideographic writing is a prototype of the civilization-state - India (Bharat in Sanskrit) also is a civilization-state. The (deva)nagari writing system is the supporter of the Vedic tradition -The Western civilization uses the (Greco-)Roman writing, even if the same word sign has not the same signification across linguistic regions. (In China the situation is the contrary. By analogy we can say that the Arabic numbers play in the West a similar role as the ideograms in China: the signs could be understood across regions, however differently pronounced.) -The Muslim sphere of civilization also is related to a writing system : the Arabic one (and its derivations). The belonging to the holy script of Koran symbolizes its unity. However, in the contemporary history this civilization doesn’t yet constituted a civilization-state which could it represent worldwide (internationally). The constitution of civilization-states could be considered as an important step into the direction of a globalization, which is based on consensus and equilibrium, and where the political and cultural integration primes the financial one. Mirat, founder of Lourdes
The first recorded pilgrim in the south of France was Murat of Lourdes (also written as Mirat el-Lur). He lived in the 8th century on the fortified castle that still rise up from the centre of Lourdes on a rocky escarpment. He went to Puy-en-Velay to venerate the Black Madonna. And gave his name to that once unremarkable market town in the foothills of the Pyrenees.
Just like that other Marian shrine of Fatima in Portugal, the roots of Lourdes lie in the time the area was part of the Western Caliphate of Cordoba.
During the 8th century Charlemagne, King of the Franks, had been laying siege to Murat in his Lourdes fortress for some time, but the local Muslim leader refused to surrender. Charlemagnes army attacked the castle on many occasions but were never able to breach its defences. The Muslims held out despite these attacks and famine and Charlemagne moved on to Roncevalles.
An other sage in De la naissance de Lourdes speaks about Africa as origin of both Tarbes and Lourdes. Two cities today unified as one Bishopric. This legend tells that in Ethiopia an unhappy queen named Tarbis, left her country to establish her borough on the borders of the Adour-river in a place now known as Tarbes. She did so because “love had touched her heart, but was unanswered.” She left Ethiopia together with her sister Lorda, who settled on the border of the river Gave, “fit surgir Lourdes”.
The best known story about the origine of Lourdes is that Charlemagne’s companion, Turpin, the Bishop of Puy, used a trick to convert Murat to Christianity. And that on the day of his baptism, Murat was given the name "Lorus". This name was transferred to the village beneath his castle, which, in time, became Lourdes.
It was probably Murats grandfather that settled in the Château of Lourdes after Gauls and Romans lived on that fortified rock. According De la naissance de Lourdes was Murat the grandson of one of the Moors that had settled around 713 in the land south of Poitiers, known as Lande Maurine, Country of the Moors. It is almost certain that Murat, as his father, were born at the Château de Lourdes on the plain of Tarbes, and stayed there after the Moorish expansion in France was halted at Poitiers in 732 by Charles Martel (The Hammer), grandfather of Charlemagne. Many genealogists suggested a line of descent from Attila the Hun to Charlemagne. A plausible reconstruction was made by Christian Settipani, who gives credit to the traditional claim that Attila's daughter was one of many wives of Ardaric, king of the Gepids. The 6th-century Gepid rulers descended from Ardaric and some royal Gepids claimed descent from this marriage in particular. A key link is the documented alliance between a Gepid princess Austrigusa and Waccho, king of the Lombards. According to Settipani, Waccho and Austricusa were ancestors of either Charlemagne's mother or his father.
Representatives of the Muslim rulers of Gerona, Barcelona, and Huesca were present at the Diet of Paderborn. Their masters were cornered in the Iberian peninsula by Abd ar-Rahman I, the Umayyad emir of Córdoba. The Moorish rulers offered homage to the king of the Franks in return for military support. Seeing an opportunity to extend his power Charlemagne agreed to go to Spain.
A lot of things happened in 778. Hildegarde, the wife of Charlemagne gave birth to a twin in Chasseneuil near Poitiers. Little Lothar died in 779, but Louis survived. It was the very same year 778 that Charlemagne tried to subject Murat of Lourdes and that he experienced the worst defeat of his life, at Roncesvalles.
That must have happened in the months before this defeat that Charlemagne, à 1a tête de son armée, s'en va guerroyer en Pays de Bigorre laid siege to Murat.
Despite his attacks and famine in the castle, the Muslims held out. Then an eagle dropped a live fish into the castle grounds, Murat sent it to Charlemagne as proof that his men lacked for nothing. Charlemagne was about to lift the siege, when the eagle unexpectedly returned and dropped the trout back at the feet of Murat.
This was seen as such a bad omen, that Murat invited Turpin, the Bishop of Puy-en-Velay to come into his besieged castle to advise him how to reverse this bad omen. Charlemagne allowed his companion to speak to the Moor.
Turpin persuaded Murat to visit the statue of the Black Virgin of Puy, There he could pay his bad omen off by offering gifts to that sculpture. No problem for Murat, as Muslims venerate the Holy Virgin Mary. Mohamed called her “The best of all woman” and a whole chapter in the Quran is named after Mary.
The origin of the pilgrimage of Le Puy in the Haute-Loire is an apparition of the Blessed Virgin to a sick widow whom Saint Martial had converted.
No French pilgrimage was more frequented in the Middle Ages. Charlemagne was there in 772 and established a foundation at the cathedral for ten poor canons (chanoines de paupérie), and chose Le Puy, with Aachen and Saint-Gilles, as a centre for the collection of Peter's Pence.
So Murat went to Le Puy-en-Velay in 778. The story tell us that he was astounded by the beauty of the statue. This must have been another effigy as the cedar one, believed to be sculpted by Jeremiah and brought by St. Louis to the Monastere Sainte Claire, N-D du Puy. This statue was burned and replaced with a gilded wood copy made by local artist at the end of 18 C.
The Black Madonna as Virgin and Mother incorporated the two faces of the ancient identity of Isis with Horus. Papal and kingly thrones all hark back to the lap of Isis upon which sits enthroned the child-god. Each gave birth to savior gods who would die and be reborn in annual cycles, parallel to the Demeter/Kore myth.
Murat’s wife Fatima was not pleased at all with a husband offering gifts to a black statue. Charlemagne still laying in siege waiting Murat to surrender. But Murat had vowed to surrender to no man, so soon another miracle had to happen. Murat heard the voice of a djinn telling him that he should not surrender to a man like Charlemagne, but to the Queen of Heaven, Mary, the Mother of Jesus. His wife had heard that scary spooky voice as well and jumped straight into the River Gave to be baptized.
Without all those legends it might be a clever move of Murat in 778. His fortress ran out of food, and God knows how long the King of the Franks would lay siege. To save his garrison and fortress from destruction Murat, finally came to terms with Charlemagne to convert to Christianity.
For this he was called Murat el-Lur by his fellow-Muslims. Lur, that means the one who goes backwards. For Muslims believe that Christians had corrupted the original message of Jesus, so the coming of a new (and final) prophet was needed: Mohamed. According the Muslim view on things Murat was going backwards in religion, hence the name el-Lur.
In 778, he led the Neustrian army across the Western Pyrenees, while the Austrasians, Lombards, and Burgundians passed over the Eastern Pyrenees.
The armies met at Zaragoza and received the homage of the rulers Soloman ibn al-Arabi and Kasmin ibn Yusuf.
Charlemagne, facing the toughest battle of his career, feared losing and decided to retreat. At Roncesvalles one of the most dramatic events of his long reign occurred.
The Battle of Roncevaux Pass was less a battle than a mere skirmish with the Basques and ended the campaign in complete disaster. Among the many famous dead were the Count of Anselm, Seneschal Eggihard and the warden of the Breton March, Roland. Inspiring the subsequent creation of the Song of Roland (Chanson de Roland).
In fact, the struggle against the Moors in the south of France continued unabated.
Charlemagne invaded Saxony in the summer of 779 and again reconquered Westphalia, Engria, and Eastphalia. At a diet near Lippe, he divided the land into missionary districts and instituted draconian laws on religious issues, himself assisted in several mass baptisms. When he returned in 782 to Saxony he caught 4,500 Saxons practising their native cult after they were baptized. All were beheaded. Charlemagnus’ Massacre of Verden triggered two years of renewed bloody warfare. During this war the Frisians were finally subdued and a large part of their fleet was burned. The war ended with Widukind accepting baptism.
In the south Muslim chiefs turned to the Franks for help in revolting against Córdoban authority in favour of the caliph of Baghdad. After his failing rebellion governor Zeid (Saïd) of Barcelona, the greatest metropolis of the region, donated his city to the Franks of Charlemagne in 797.
That same year Harun al-Rashid, the caliph of Baghdad, presented Charlemagne with an Asian elephant named Abul-Abbas and a mechanical clock, out of which came a mechanical bird to announce the hours.
The Umayyad authority of Córdoba recaptured Barcelona in 799. What happened with Murad of Lourdes we don’t know. Only parts of walls and lapidary vestiges from Muslim times remain in his fortress in the Pyrenean Piedmont.
