The New Delhi Railway Station (station code NDL) is the main railway station in Delhi, and is one of the largest stations in India. It handles over three hundred trains each day.The station has 12 platforms for berthing of Trains. The New Delhi station holds the record for the largest route interlock system in the world. The station is located about two kilometres north of Connaught Place, in central Delhi.
Some of the important trains that originate from New Delhi are the Mumbai Rajdhani Express, Kolkata Rajdhani Express, Guwahati Rajdhani Express, Tamil Nadu Express, Andhra Pradesh Express,Bhopal Shatabdi Express, Lucknow Shatabdi Express , Kalka Shatabdi Express, and the Amritsar Shatabdi Express. Most east- and northbound trains originate here.
