He is the current headcoach of the San Antonio Spurs and guided them to NBA championships in 1999 and 2003. He won the NBA Coach of the Year Award in 2002.
Popovich was one of the 7 coaches ever to have resigned from a coaching job in 1997, but he was appointed coach again
