Pokémon Diamond and Pearl are new Pokémon games to be released for the Nintendo DS. Not much is known about them. The games have been officially announced by Nintendo.
Coro Coro magazine has currently only confirmed five new 4th generation Pokémon:
- Munchlax, the pre-evolution of Snorlax
- Rukario, a legendary Pokémon
- Usohachi, the pre-evolution of Sudowoodo
- Manene, the pre-evolution of Mr. Mime
- Manyula, the evolved form of Sneasel
All appear in the 8th movie, Mew and the Wave Guiding Hero - Rukario, and Munchlax also appears in the 7th movie, Destiny Deoxys, and in the main Pokémon anime series, where one is captured by May, one of the main characters.
Pokémon Diamond and Pearl are currently set to be released in Japan in November 2005.
Pokémon Diamond was also the name of an unauthorized bootleg version of the Japanese Game Boy Color game Telefang.
