Outreau is a chief town of canton of northern France, in the département of Pas-de-Calais, district of Boulogne-sur-Mer. It belongs to agglomeration Boulogne Côte d'Opale, which gathers 9 communes, and has a population of 122,755 inhabitants.

Population (1999): 15,442 inhabitants for the commune and 18,156 inhabitants for the canton.
