Thanks! Yes, I took that photograph last weekend—figured it'd be perfect as a Misplaced Pages illustration. Oh, by the way, don't forget to sign your comments with four tildes like this: ~~~~. That way it is easy for people to tell who said what. — Knowledge Seeker 22:08, 19 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Will try and remember to sign in future.

Need more info

Regarding: "== My article has been edited. == Why did you get rid of my image?" on my talk page-- since (a) no one owns articles here so "my article" is meaningless and (b) there are something on the order of a million articles and (c) I do quite a lot of editing, therefore I need more of a clue what exactly you're referring to. Elf | Talk 23:53, 30 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Never mind.

Microsoft

No, I'm not from Microsoft. I'm just interested in the subject. AlistairMcMillan 18:02, 15 Apr 2005 (UTC)

OK, just wondering. • Thorpe • 19:38, 29 May 2005 (UTC)

Recent change

I belive that things are taken from requested articles Misplaced Pages:Requested articles and then put in a commented out holding section on recent changes. However I don't deal with this much so I don't know how things from Misplaced Pages:Requested articles are selected.Geni 14:36, 23 Apr 2005 (UTC)

OK, thanks for that.

Hey

Hey, I've just learned how to talk on here properly, hehe! So thought I better reply to that message incase I seem ignorant! Yeah, I'm kind of a big EastEnders fan, you've listed it as one of your contributions - does that mean you and me are alike? lol

Anyway, the article is really building up nicely isn't it? --EastEnders the great 01:56, 22 May 2005 (UTC)

Yes, well mainly thanks to you. Anyway, thanks for leaving a message. • Thorpe • 11:05, 22 May 2005 (UTC)

Vandalism and IPs

Thorpe, your IP is the source of a recent spate of vandalism, although I doubt it is actually "you". FYI. Daniel Collins 22:04, 25 May 2005 (UTC)

This is absolutely pathetic. I am having to edit pages with an I.P. address all because of my username being hacked. 86.130.218.107 20:52, 26 May 2005 (UTC)

Featured Picture

You forgot to put your nomination and support on the Featured Picture you placed on the FPC page. Thought you might like to know. TomStar81

Explain further? • Thorpe • 09:06, 27 May 2005 (UTC)
See WP:FPC#How_to_add_your_nomination. What he means is you forgot to transinclude the nomination on to the page. You didn't add the following text: {{Misplaced Pages:Featured picture candidates/Chicago River dyed green}} to WP:FPC. Furthermore, please sign your nominations and your indication of whether it is a self-nomination, or just a first nomination... then indicate that you support the picture for it's nomination. Thank you! -- AllyUnion (talk) 10:01, 27 May 2005 (UTC)

Moving the Wiktionary template

Why on earth did you move the Wiktionary template down on the Nosebleed article? (preceding unsigned comment by Thorpe 22:31 UTC, 28 May 2005)

It looked bad on my browser. This may be a function of my browser so feel free to move it back. --Tony Sidaway|Talk 22:43, 28 May 2005 (UTC)

Nintendo DS colors

Because the Nintendo DS was first released by Nintendo of America (which uses American spelling), then Nintendo Corporation Limited in Japan (a nation that primarily uses American English spelling), and only then it was released in nations that use British English. 2 out of 3 native English speakers are Americans, so unless there's a good reason to use Commonwealth English spellings (such as the article being about a Commonwealth nation or the metric system), we should stick to American English spelling. In this case, since the product is mainly made and marketed by Americans and Japanese, it's clearly best to stick to American. --Carl 14:07, 29 May 2005 (UTC)

OK. • Thorpe • 14:10, 29 May 2005 (UTC)

Image code

That's not code, it's descriptions. Fredrik | talk 15:49, 29 May 2005 (UTC)

Vandal

Do not accuse me of being a vandal because I removed a note putting an article on speedy delete. BeBop 18:08, 29 May 2005 (UTC)

It clearly looked like a form of vandalism from my eyes.

RFC for troll

Hi Thorpe;

As a user who has "tried and failed" to solve an issue with another user (BeBop and his various sockpuppets), I invite you to look at this RFC and sign it accordingly. Thanks. Linuxbeak | Talk | Desk 18:43, May 30, 2005 (UTC)

Yes, indeed I will. • Thorpe • 18:47, 30 May 2005 (UTC)
Actually, seeing you've talked to the troll himself, would you be able to sign under Users certifying the basis for this dispute instead? Thanks! Linuxbeak | Talk | Desk 19:00, May 30, 2005 (UTC)
Yes, done. Anything else? :)

I see you added {{attention}} to a quick and dirty 'Coal Bed' article. How's this different from '{{Clean}}'? Fabartus 05:35, 1 Jun 2005 (UTC)

What are you trying to get at here? • Thorpe • 11:27, 1 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Fear & Respect article

I was updating the infobox to the template used by the WikiProject Computer and video games as it matches the style of other video game articles, and allows for all articles to be changed quickly. If you particularly want Fear & Repect to use the old infobox then you can change it back and I promise I will not revert it again. Sorry for taking so long to get back to you. Ian Moody 09:59, 6 Jun 2005 (UTC)

I'm not bothered now. • Thorpe • 20:58, 6 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Re: My edits reverted

Hi Thorpe - you wrote:

Why did you revert my edits on the stub template? Do you have a reason for this?

Numerous stub-related pages refer to the extra load placed on servers by using icons in heavy-use templates, and there seems to be general consensus as to not using them in such cases (note the number of types of stub templates that have had their icons removed in recent times). Although Template:stub is not the high-use template it once was, it could easily become so again, so - until such time as the server load problems are overcome - having an icon on it is not a good idea. See ] for details. Grutness...wha? 01:51, 13 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Fair enough. • Thorpe • 06:27, 13 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Re: Green river

Thanks for nominating it! I was hoping it would have enough votes to pass, but looks like they decided it didn't. It's all right: I'm glad that so many people like it (and to tell the truth, I'm not a big fan of the criteria for featured pictures or the way they're chosen). But thanks for your support! — Knowledge Seeker 20:40, 14 Jun 2005 (UTC)

krill eye

hallo Luke, thank you for the kind words and for voting Uwe Kils 16:24, Jun 15, 2005 (UTC)

No need to thank me. It's ok. • Thorpe • 16:35, 15 Jun 2005 (UTC)

I'm still working on it. It is done now. If it's still not right, could you please be more informative. Thank you... Roscoe x 16:44, 15 Jun 2005 (UTC)
