This article was nominated for deletion on Nov 5 2005. The result of the discussion was NoConsensus. An archived record of this discussion can be found here.

I was going to Wikify it today.

But, I do not agree the tone is inappropriate. It is all fact, so I won't change it. Therefore, please remove the entire article for me.Rlevse 14:26, 16 November 2005 (UTC)

Phrases like "had a good heart" are emotive and inappropriate for an encylopedia. Nobody is forcing you to change the article. But eventually another wikipedian that is familar with the subject area will clean the article up and adjust the tone to make it read more like an encyclopedia entry. If you wish to delete the article you must follow the Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion process. (Also please read our Deletion policy. If you have any questions, please ask them here or on my talk page, thanks. --JiFish(/Contrib) 13:01, 4 November 2005 (UTC)

Lee Mirecki Page, Vote to delete my own page

(me)Jfish: regarding the above, I don't why you're so worried about this page when Misplaced Pages has what is essentially a flame war going on over the page on the riots going on in France.

I vote to have my own page deleted.

I'm obviously new to Misplaced Pages, so I haven't learned its ins and outs yet. I haven't made myself an account yet as I haven't decided on a handle yet.Rlevse 14:26, 16 November 2005 (UTC)

Since you want it deleted I shall nominate it for articles for deletion for you. --JiFish(/Contrib) 18:04, 5 November 2005 (UTC)

I'm the one who created this page. I've now created a wiki account and my handle is 'rlevse'. I changed my mind and will now start on wikifying this article and cleaning it up some since the deletion result was "no consensus".

Question: I clicked on the user/timestamp icon but my use and time did not appear. How do I get this to work? I manually typed it.

--Rlevse 19:25, 15 November 2005 (UTC)rlevse, 15 Nov 2005

moments later...I see the user/time stamp appeared.

Questions: How do I change the Lee Mirecki article so it'll show up as being created by my handle "rlevse"? I've cleaned up the tone. Please remove that tag. I've done some wikifying. I'd appreciate suggestions on other things needed along this line.

--Rlevse 19:28, 15 November 2005 (UTC)

To sign a post simply type for tildes. (~~~~) It will be turned in to your signature when the page is saved.
As for the tone, I made some additional tone adjustments and replaced the tag with a more generic cleanup tag. To compare what the tone and style of an article should be like please see the Isaac Woodward article. It also might be worth you finding a wikipedian with more knowledge of military matters, as they will be better able to assist you than I.
As for changing the attribution of your earlier edits, I am not sure if that's possible. But try asking at the Misplaced Pages:Help desk as they may be able to do this. --JiFish(/Contrib) 14:13, 16 November 2005 (UTC)

Jfish--thanks for your input. I've made many upgrades, added a little info, and fixed one spot where you changed 'navy' to 'army', so I changed it back to 'navy' as Lee was not in the army. Pls look over and see if it can be "published" now. Rlevse 15:13, 16 November 2005 (UTC)

Sorry for introducting that error. The page is great now! I have removed the remaining cleanup tag. Thanks for taking the time to make this article a higher standard of quality. Although, I should point out that it is not anymore "published" now than it was before. Such is the way of wikipedia all articles can be updated and altered. I suggest you add it to your watch list so you can keep track of future changes to the article. Thanks for contributing to wikipedia! I hope you choose to stay and contribute to other articles. --JiFish(/Contrib) 15:34, 16 November 2005 (UTC)

Jfish--thanks for working with me. I do plan to stay around and work other articles. Wiki is a great resource. I understand about being "published". I guess I should have said "up to snuff". 140.32.75.211 15:57, 16 November 2005 (UTC)

Wikifying

The article as written is not disputed in any way, I have tried to leave all facts intact, but several things were stated multiple times and I wanted to highlight the chronology more. I also wanted to highlight more prominently the fact that this case appears to be cited by the Navy internally, which reinforces its signifciance. I think Mirecki's keenness is amply demonstrated by his having elected to follow this course despite a strong fear of water. I followed this case - Just zis  Guy, you know? / (W) AfD? 16:53, 16 November 2005 (UTC)

Just zis guy--OK. I have no problems with your edits. I added two categories at the end.Rlevse 17:38, 16 November 2005 (UTC)

Cool. You might want to flesh out the courrt case, it leaves it hanging rather. Is the judgment available online? - Just zis  Guy, you know? / (W) AfD? 19:03, 16 November 2005 (UTC)

I know the case is sort of hanging, I haven't found out the eventual outcome. Rlevse 15:39, 17 November 2005 (UTC)
