The West Shore Subdivision is a railroad line owned by New York Central Lines LLC and operated by CSX Transportation in the U.S. state of New York. The line runs from Fairport west to North Chili along a former New York Central Railroad line. Both of its ends are at the Rochester Subdivision; it provides a southern bypass of Rochester.

Dispatchers often make the statement: Down The Shore After 4 due to Amtrak being in the City of Rochester then.

History

The entire line opened in 1884 as part of the New York, West Shore and Buffalo Railway. It became part of the New York Central and Conrail through leases, mergers, and takeovers, and was assigned to CSX in the 1999 breakup of Conrail.
