iPod Touch is a portable media player designed and marketed by Apple and that was released on September 5, 2007 as part of an event dubbed "The Beat Goes On", which featured the introduction of Coverflow to the iPod line and The Beatles to the iTunes Store. It is the 5th model in the iPod line released by Apple. It is wider than the 2nd generation iPod Nano, but has the same aluminam casing. As of August 2007, the line-up consisted of the video-capable fifth generation iPod, the smaller second generation iPod nano, and the display-less second generation iPod shuffle. This is the newest model in the iPod line. The iPod line used to contain the iPod mini, until being discontinued for the introduction of the iPod nano. The iPod Touch uses a 8 or 16 gigabyte hard drive. The full-sized video model stores media on an internal hard drive, while the iPod nano and iPod shuffle use flash memory. Like many digital music players, iPods can also serve as external data storage devices.

User interface

The iPod Touch has a more advanced interface than the older models, but still contains the same listing on the front. and single button home navigation.
