Welcome to my Talk Page!
  • I normally will respond on your own talk page, not here. I don't want to deprive you of the pleasure of watching a beautiful orange bar cheering your sight up :)
  • I usually archive discussions when this page exceeds 40 topics. Of course, at some moments of laziness, this page may contain way more than that. But please, don't panic - I'm too good at that without your help!
  • Needless to say, I have one golden rule I like to be observed at my Talk page: be nice, be nice, and after that, be nice. If after reading this, you still feel the urge to squeeze my neck for any reason, please visit this page, take a deep breath, and come back - I'll be waiting here! :)
  • You may of course post here regarding admin-related matters or requests for administrative help. Such messages have my absolute priority when replying. In extremely urgent cases, you may also wish to email me here. I'll address your concerns as fast as my human capacities permit.
  • Sometimes it may take me long to reply to you, but I invariably will try. If a few days pass without reply, please forgive me - I'll get back to you as soon as I possibly can, I swear!

I'm using a template you made

Hi, Phaedriel. I'm using the template you made for Jossi, see discussion here. Is that okay with you? It's such a handy-dandy thing, I don't know why everyone's not using it. -- LisaSmall /C 14:41, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

Thank you, I got your kind note on my talk page. I think I should be fine unless the template that begins "User:Jossi(pipe)" ever goes away. Then I'll be back, begging for my own version so that my tabs stay intact. Seriously, these tabs are the greatest thing since sliced bread when negotiating around my own pages, thanks so much! -- LisaSmall /C 02:01, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
No, unfortunately, I don't want to use the tabs on the talk page. There's already an easy way built in to Misplaced Pages to hop from the talk page back to the user page. And the "unfortunate" part is that I'm involved in a long dispute with a vandal who periodically visits my talk page (but apparently not my user page). I don't particularly want to draw my sandboxes to his pesky attentions. So, until he gets tired and goes away... besides, the sandbox materials are just that, and definitely not ready for prime time!  :) -- LisaSmall /C 02:08, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

How are you?

Hello Sharon,

Nice to know you have recovered. Just wanted to ask when you were going to get around to designing once again. No pressure, in fact I hope the requests were not what stressed you out in the first place, because if thats so, Id rather withdraw than burden you further. :-). Get well soon and continue to spread wikilove and wikicheer. Best wishes, Ashwin —Preceding unsigned comment added by AshLin (talkcontribs) 15:00, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

User Page Look

I look the new look to the page, it is different, but I hope you bring back the "Wikipedian Day" part and your picture too and can incorporate them all together. If you like, you can use the userbox setup I use. It keeps things out of the way. I bet you could make it look better than what I have. Your Back

How good it is to see you back Phaedriel. At first, I was quite concerned about your wherabouts, but after I found out where you were, my worries were relieved. By the thank you for making August 14, The Random Editor's Day. I want you to know that it brought tears of joy to my eyes to see that. --Tλε Rαnδom Eδιτor (tαlk) 03:11, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

Porn Articles

Ok Phaedriel, here we go! I am going to be doing some random edits on these porn articles over the weekend and I hope that you are around to help bail me out! LOL These people get really aggressive over this porn crap! Especially since I feel that the editors are also the subjects. On many occassions in the talk pages they slip and use the word "I" or "my company". I just think these people have gotten away with too much for too long. What about kids clicking on these links and it taking them to pornographic sites with nudity and things of the sort. I wish I were an admin I would see about changing some of these rules! Well, wish me luck!! Junebug52 13:10, 7 September 2007 (UTC)

Oh dear. That sounds ominous. How about targeted edits rather than random edits? --AnonEMouse 14:04, 7 September 2007 (UTC)

OK OK excuse me oh wise one LOL. I will accept that rebuke and adhere to targeted edits! LOL I have started. ]. Can you look at what I did and see what you think? I took out all of the fluff and anything that refered someone to a website that contained advertising. I think it looks a lot better and reads much easier. I also took out the personal information about him and his partner and where they were living. That maybe a private thing that the subject may or may not want published. We shall see how the eidtor reacts when they see it removed! After all, if the editor is not the subject they should be able to accept that one with no problem. LOL Junebug52 14:16, 7 September 2007 (UTC)

Yes, that is a lot better. You are removing advertising fluff and unsourced controversial or personal material. You're not changing the rules, you are carrying them out quite nicely. I was worried at first from the way you had put it here, but you are doing fine. Carry on! --AnonEMouse 14:22, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
While you are editing, would you mind adding more pictures to the articles? The problem with wikipedia has always been the fact that there are simply too many words, and not enough explicit images. the_undertow 22:39, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
Oh you so funny!!! LOL That's just what we need, some more pornographic images. I am trying to get rid of it now! LOL Junebug52 23:48, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

Your two cents are requested.

I remember seeing your user page way back in the day and thinking "one day i'm going to have to ask this person for help." I don't really know why as I had not been involved in any serious disputes up to that point but I suppose you just left a good impression. Sort of like the big sister that can be calm and sort things out when a kid punches the other in the mouth or something. So that's why i'm rambling here on your talk page and you probably still have no idea where this is going. I'll cut to the chase.
Back in July there was some serious sock/meatpuppet activity going down on the article and talk page for Abd-al-Aziz ibn Abd-Allah ibn Baaz, a religious figure of the 20th century. Basically consisted of some now-deleted attack pages in relation, the insertion of some serious POV into the main article, dishonesty about the context of Arabic-language references, the whole shebang. I considered going for an incident report or something like that until two more concerned editors jumped in and called foul, Can't Sleep Clown Will Eat Me put a temporary block on one of the puppets and it all went downhill from there. The guy ended up making a final comment about Misplaced Pages not being a valid source editing anyway; the whole exchange still dominates the article's talk page.
Job well done, right? Yeah, it seemed that way for about two months until he came back with a vengeance. I currently have an open case in regard to this behavior at Misplaced Pages:Suspected sock puppets/Chubeat8, but haven't been able to get any response so far. The article has been protected due to edit warring through several accounts and IPs, which I reported here. The same ld tactics are on display on the talk page as well; he mostly seems concerned with attacking my integrity as an editor (posting friendly disagreements with other editors as evidence of my "disruptive editing", an instance four months ago where I reverted an edit of my own, etc). It's gotten worse, though; the guy has begun stalking me onto other pages, reverting my edits seemingly at random; this goes from things as simple as removal of unsourced content down to grammatical corrections to even intentionally inserting a spelling error on one occasion.
As you can probably tell (if I haven't bored you to death already, I have a tendency to ramble) it's quite a mess at this point. I've tried seeking arbitration through other editors and have opened a case now but the guy continues to run amok across Misplaced Pages now, I suppose in order to frustrate me or something. I would feel flattered that this amount of time is spent on me if it weren't for the fact that I could be getting useful edits done otherwise.
I know it's a big mess and it's a bit to ask, but could you review the open case in regard to puppetry? That's the most pressing issue I see, though the others are sort of tied into it. I'm sort of at the end of my rope here as to how to deal with disruption on such a mass scale. Thank you so much for any help you may lend! MezzoMezzo 14:10, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

Well, it's good to know that I can be my normal long winded self! As for the matter at hand, you are indeed correct about taking a step back. I suppose I need to let it go for the time being and allow those in charge to handle it. I guess I let myself get in too deep into the dispute, courtesy is something I normally take pride in and it's a shame when sometimes I lose my cool. Regardless, thanks for your input as I can see that you're quite busy handling the official business here and there. For some reason I kept wanting to call you "The Big Cheese", i'm not really sure why because that title may be more befitting of Jimbo but I digress. Have a great day! MezzoMezzo 21:53, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

Aww Phaedriel, I thank you so much ^^. I've been doing alot of major editing to articles recently, such as Meg & Dia, and nobody even thanked me! In fact, nobody thanked, congratulated, or even shouted at me for doing something wrong. It's been really lonely here on Misplaced Pages, so you leaving me a message telling me I'm Star of the day really lightened up my wikimood!
Where have you been lately, busy? Or just another Wikibreak? I started school again now, so my activity is a bit low. But it's great to see you around again. I hope everything is ok! Thankyou again. <3jacĸrм ( talk | sign ) 15:31, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

Sock puppet whack-a-mole, etc

Thanks for the kind message, I'll take the suggestion to run for the mop under advisement (certainly won't in the next few months, but I'll warn you if I start warming to the idea). About that AfD, I see no need for special action, it's eventual outcome is certain. About our friend, I'm of two minds. One of which is the feeling that with such a history of sockpuppetry, blocking all of his accounts will just lead to a long game of whack-a-mole. While I don't really see him making a huge positive contribution (some of his edits *are* actually constructive) I think leaving him one unblocked account may result in the least wasted effort cleaning up after him in the long term. I'm not firmly convinced this is the right course of action, but that's my current thinking. Best regards, Pete.Hurd 20:23, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
