I don't think "Archie Hamilton" is his best known name. In his constituency (where I grew up) and in Westminster politics in the late 1990s I recall him always being known as "Sir Archibald Hamilton". Can I suggest we move this page to Archibald Hamilton? -- Timrollpickering Feb 8, 2004 22:31 UTC
- Done. Morwen 22:32, Feb 8, 2004 (UTC)
- Having said that, though... Google UK gives 20 hits for "Archibald Hamilton MP", but 71 for "Archie Hamilton MP". I'm surprised by the comment above, as I've certainly heard "Archie" much more than "Archibald". Loganberry 01:28, 12 May 2005 (UTC)
Googling for "Archie Hamilton" Epsom v "Archibald Hamilton" Epsom, and "Archie Hamilton" MP v "Archibald Hamilton" MP is even more conclusive - about 7,000 to a few hundred. I'll put in a move request for this to go back to Archie Hamilton. sjorford →•← 13:05, 24 Jun 2005 (UTC)
